SHOCKING from R240 Producer

Newmarket Race 1 - Guess WTF we listened to on 240 for the entire race - Hint - It was the one on the right.
Brandon is on track. Things are falling apart in the studio.

Same problem at Sha Tin yesterday. Greyville interviews took precedence. The presenters and commentator's at Hong Kong racing assist before the race by telling us where the money is on and you don't get to hear this now. I don't think the fault lies with the presenters at Greyville. The production team at R240 needs to sort this out.

Do the winning interviews even have to be shown at all? Especially when they are now loaded onto youtube, where they can be viewed at anytime

Just listened to extensive chatter about the possible outcome for race 6 at Greyville at the same time there was a live race with money at stake.

It was a poor race over the jumps but my personal choice would have been the live commentary vs a presenters opinion about a possible outcome 🤔

Dave, all the producers there, bar Brandon, don't understand the punter. Others think they are doing a sterling job just showing the split screen, because that is what they were guided on thanks to all our whining on the issue on this site. They don't understand the frustration of having to listen to ANYONE, when you have money on a horse and can see a race but not know which is your horse because there is no commentary. Also, in my example above, the Newmarket races was a spectacle. A Sport. We wanted to savour the racing from a punting perspective, but also as a spectacle, with the quality commentary. Not just see the visuals half screen and have to see Niko and listen to his opinion on how a race ran.

Thanks Brandon. Your attempts today, together with the producer, to ensure that the UK meetings get actual coverage as well has been noted. You're a champ. There is only so much one can listen to these local presenters before we need to change. Keep this the norm, not just for when Brandon is in studio.

Brandon's awareness is definitely top notch... Even from commentating at Fairview yesterday he was aware of the overseas racing...

I see we definitely getting no help from the presenter in the studio today, as usual. Not sure who the producer is today. They seem to know how to use the split screen perfectly enough, but seem to think we want to listen to the f*** post race interview rather than commentary of the UK meeting that is running that is part of all the exotics. Poor showing today.

I'm leaning the other way - why can local racing not get preference on 240 - the overseas stuff imo should be shown on GR1 - this morning the guys from Durbanville were about to show a preview of the trainers etc - but someone deemed that we would rather watch a harness race from Aus - now I know the pools are to be boosted - but really - a harness race from Aus - why can't it be shown on GR1 for those interested in growing the pools by another 10k ?

If its part of the Jackpot Quickmix the race should be shown or if it offers the morning Australian exotic bets like swingers. The producer of the show should know the times of these races and the inserts shown between them. Alternatively cross over the commentary in the closing stages and go back to the inserts. Some of these Australian race courses have live tracker of the horses but this is only shown on Gallop. Why not live on 240 as well so you can show the inserts and still track your horse on the feed.

It’s an amateur show… not sure why they cut away after the finish … to have the in-studio announcer repeat the result … he’s so far removed from the action… stay with the on-course crew, who come back live and repeat said result!

The results are best shown with a graphic … and not have a studio announcer warble on for four minutes!
