SPORTINGWEB WEEKEND THOUGHTS!
16 years 8 months ago
Hi Everyone,
After the Lions showing last week I will not blame any of you for deleting this message before reading it – it was a shocking performance and the fact that we only missed the handicap by a small margin of half a point in the end was no consolation as the Lions were dead and buried on the cap along way from home.
There is no rugby this weekend thanks to a strange decision by the powers that be to have a week off and so its back to soccer for the best and value bets of the week.
Before I start make sure you tune into TellyTrack (Channel 232) around 21h45 tonight as Garth (my regular radio show guest) and I are making our debuts on BETTING WORLD presented by Neil Andrews. I am sure after watching you will agree with me that Garth in particular has a face for radio!
I started with that because it has led me to a new name for my Best Bet of the week namely Brent’s Banker (those who have been on the mailing list for some time will remember the “College Fund” bet which will remain but only be pulled out when I am proposing a huge strike in the 10 unit vicinity)
BRENT’S BANKER
5 units more than 2.5 goals Villa vs. Portsmouth at 1/1 with Betting World
Both teams have had plenty of goalmouth action and averaged over 3 goals a game this term. This bet would also have arrived in 71% of their fixtures to date and that’s good enough for me to make it my banker.
By the way check out Chris Sturdy of Good for the Game’s article on the weekend’s footie. He selects a couple of goal market bets and also takes a look at the big Madrid derby between Atletico and Real. That leads me to this week value punt which is to have a go on Real at 15/10 with Sportsbet.
Amazingly they have not lost to Atletico since 1999 (13 league matches) and in the 7 games Atletico have hosted there have been 2 draws and 5 wins for Real. Atletico have got off to a decent start but have slipped of late and Real look well priced to grab all 3 points.
VALUE BET
2 units Real Madrid win at 15/10 with Sportsbet
Talking of value check out the 88% book on the Ajax vs. Platinum Stars match in the Telkom Knock Out this weekend. It is not often the odds are in the punters favour and for a while at least there should be good opportunities in the local game.
Have a great weekend and remember to enter your soccer predictions at www.fs.co.za to have a crack at this weeks Jackpot worth R8000 in the English Soccer 6. If you are not entered no problem you can do so now for free, just remember to enter a team and your predictions once registered.
Finally if you have any mates you think would enjoy getting this e-mail each week (even if it is to see what not to punt) please forward this on to them and tell them to drop me a line.
Cheers
Brent Graham
