Mmmmmm, a bookie won’t start a new pool. They will wait for the tote to start a new pool. They will then legally rape the tote with the open bet.
The bookie is doing nothing wrong, because the open bet is not illegal. The tote shot themselves in the foot by allowing the bookies to lay the open bet.
How fucked up is that?

The tote has access to free riskless money. They choose to not give punters the option to give them their money, by not offering exotic bets, and rather encourage punters moving to fixed odds win and place (unless you are really braindead, and take win and place bets on the tote). Worry about what bookies and the open bet is doing only after you (tote) first get your own house in order. You can barely offer a proper evening's worth of betting opportunities.

Even Oz has overtaken SA now offering all bet types on Horse and Hound events with possible exception of Pa, bipot and Pick 6.
Jackpot or Quaddie is from 1-4, then 5- 8.

Our guys only migrating punters to the books to fill them books coffers.
How else can them books keep sponsoring Gr1 events countrywide.
Back in the days of Natal Bookies Association and Tvl Bookies Association there was no big sponsorship of racing from them.
Yet racing flourished with the introduction of a Trifecta in the 80's followed by Pick6 and Quartet.
Tvl Tote even offered a Superfecta.

Our ( tote) have gone in reverse without a doubt.

Can HollywoodBets start offering their own Pool exotics? They have the client base. Seeing as the TOTE can't be bothered.

Sure there will be one day

The brilliant 4Q crew has aced this one for Mary

Going to keep this thread up until the current tote improves. Right now there is no need to maximize revenue at the tote, as others have pointed out in this thread, and with that, the absolute bare minimum is being done to promote betting.

Still only one meeting in the evenings with exotics despite so many options from USA and Ireland to consider.

Things are looking up. Local racing PLUS two UK meetings with exotics covered during the day. And this evening, TWO UK meetings both covered with exotics.
Well done.
