RA article on Freeracer
16 years 8 months ago
I have just read the article that Charl Pretorius has published on Freeracer after he innterviewed Clyde and Larry. I then also read the comments made by Adios Bookies and Catsmug and some others.
Firstly I find it strange that no one here on ABC has yet commented on the article; then it also amazes me that the points made by Adios and Catsmug are the same ones that were raised here on ABC over the last year; at that stage they were castigated as 'traitors'; now when these same arguments are made on Freeracer, these thoughts are seen as a 'good aggressive posting'. Oh please pull the other one.
Let me also commend Charl on putting in the effort to clear up matters, but surely a good investigative journalist would not have accepted the willy nilly answers to some of the questions asked. As an example 'there is nothing we can do about the sale of Newmarket....'. Perhaps an acknowledgement that a mistake had been made would be a good place to start. We are now sitting with having to race on two tracks in Gauteng where you might as well stay at home if one does not get a draw; a situation that came about directly as a consequence of the sale of Newmarket; to say 'forget about it amd let's move on' is simply not good enough.
Another question that I have, is why is it necessary for someone like Charl to set up interviews wit the RA? Surely if they were as good at communicating as Clyde says, it should not be necessary for someone to interview them to get the facts. We need to know what is going on, and if this means a weekly newsletter (carrying ALL the news, not just the glossy stuff), then so be it; communication is everything in this day and age.
And they still hide behind the excuse that 'it was the previous board that did this, etc.); how many of the previous board members sit on the current board? Is the current board really that different from the previous one?

Frodo 100% correct & Charl thanks for your effort in securing SOME answers, but NOT ALL.
I want to know is R.A. membership down from last year cause of higher fees plus the bullsh!t we've been fed since the new board took over, ESPECIALLY OVER THE LIGHTS ISSUE,
The R.A. is constantly ducking issues regarding the TRILOGY SYNDICATE. WHY ? don't keep telling us this is from the past. Answers are required.
the new board has made inroads yes, but they are not being transparent enough. We only got SOME of the answers because FR was begged by their readers to get some answers from the R.A...... if Charl did not have the interview, all members would have still been in the dark again... wonderfull thing this loadshedding, it appears to hit TURFFONTEIN a lot more often than other suburbs.
Scotia will the R.A. grant ABC representative an interview ?

Agreed Cat, the website is poor, it holds little factual information (number of memebers, etc.), but resembles a glossy magazine full of hype and little else.
