See Captain Dizzy has been punted from 10/1 into 33/10. Has been running against much stronger company and his rating have dropped considerably. If not in need of the run, should go close, and the money would suggest someone thinks he is fit enough to pull this off against this lot.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

You may be on to something here. Changed trainers and has not run for 230 days. Lots of reasons for a big improvement.

I agree- could see favourites winning the first 4
Second half of the card looks challenging.
I expect Celtic Rumours to win comfortably
Hoping that Umthombo Wolwazi can defy the 5 points raise and win again.

Hello Everyone
Tuesday 27th December 2022, Vaal Classic Track, few selections from my end.
Race 01) (4) Back To The Future .. is very strong in this lineup for win purposes but odds offered are very low, (2) Gaetana has a small chance to finish in the money.
Race 02) (2) Grand Escape .. is returning to the track after a 175 day break, if fit and well then can win as this 5yo Gelding has got very good turn of foot, on the other hand the hottie in this race is a filly taking on the males and duly gets the 4kgs sex allowance and is drawn in pole position but has not raced over the bend and also not raced this far, odds are very low as well, (4) Quixote ran a very good race last time out and then on the 11th of December 2022 was scratched, reason quoted was "Coughing", if fit and well then is capable of showing some cheek to the principal selection.
Race 03) (3) Battleground .. has the best credentials in this lineup, (6) To The King .. has got a chance to grab a minor cheque.
Race 04) (10) Turnthebeataround .. ran a fair race on debut over 1450m and now steps up in trip, is well bred for these type of distances, half sister to Disco Al who has won few graded races. Has a good chance to come up trumps in this moderate lineup.
Have a nice day at the races.
Warm Regards

Does not look that challenging to find some festive cheer - but does look more open from the 5th onwards - thoughts:
R1: On exposed form the hottie does look hard to beat - I think Gaetano could run into 2nd, unless the debutante Dusky Rose is better than average
R2: The filly Celtic Rumours obviously the one to beat, but I think Quixote is no slouch and I expect a match race
R3: Another match race between Battleground and Prime Example (on form only around 1/2 a length between them) - Battleground comes off a break, while Prime Example is match fit, so I don't think there will be much between them; American Star has only his 3rd start, but needs more imo to match the other 2
R4: Broadlands improved nicely in her 2nd start and looks the one to beat; Pomezelous disappointed last time and may not be good enough to match strides with Broadlands, but the de Kock inmate Turnthebeataround could show major improvement in her 2nd start; I do think Broadlands is the right one though, while the rest look held
R5: First of 3 Handicaps - very open with only So Long Spring totally out of it - take your pick
R6: Another Handicap and not straight forward - Tirpitz not a great draw, but should be right there; Destiny of Souls 2nd run after a gelding, but needs further improvement to beat Lord Varys; value could be could be After Hours (although having gone up in the ratings) has a neat draw and is a winner this track and trip
R7: Competitive handicap; Texas Red, Umthombo Wolwazi and Stormy Weather look the principles, but any of the others could pop up at best
R8: Classified Stakes; only 1000 though so the females' advantage at the weights not so telling; Captain Dizzy finding support in the market, but again this is not straight-forward; Beaded Gown would be my first choice, but not easy
Enjoy
