Mr Pettigrew is deeply aggrieved and rightly so. I just hope this is not construed as bringing the game into disrepute.I salute this trainers courage to speak his mind.

I agree with how he read the race. The original winner was first to claim the gap and so it was their right to take the space. Second horse tried to force their way through despite missing the first move into the gap.

.....geez talk about the broken telephone.....saw something about this but posted in the comments in the SP about the pace making Guinea's jockey and.... was rather flummoxed about the stipe being familiarly connected to the jockey ....:S....but now thanks to Stuart I see what had happened in a different unrelated matter.....was this Andre Hoffman a one time Christmas jock/work rider in the Woodruff yard at the Vaal........but Stuart now speaking out about this matter will surely make him a target of that Cake brigade at the NHRA....he wont be able to even keep toothpaste in his medicine chest.....

This would be a tight call either way but the family connection adds the spice to the argument.

Jockey in the blue and white silks is in the wrong...they being awarded the race is wrong...
But after the disgrace of Wylie Hall - Legislate, nothing surpises me...the only thing one can be certain of is the inconsistencies...

Dave I would love you to elaborate on why you consider this a tight call.
I disagree with you totally.

OTA
I did not watch the entire race but looking at above insert it looks like a ding dong bumping tussle between the two and could have gone either way via the Stipes ? a bit like the Summer Cup with Striker and Shea if my memory serves me right.
I find that it's probably a bigger issue due to the family connection between jockey and Stipe.

watched the replay over again...a terrible decision..
gutted as i had a great dbl with Belvarde and could not believe when the result was upheld..NHRA should get a new board, total inconsistent in what they doing, wonder what each persons performance reviews looks like on that panel

I guess another way of looking at it would be......
The blue and white silks won by short head and the yellow silks object.
How would the Stipes have viewed that 🤔
