4RacingTV - Scrolling news / info bar added

We have deployed the ‘ticker tape’ style scrolling news / info bar across the bottom of the screen. Please share your thoughts, recommendations and the info you would like to see in the news / info scroll. We would appreciate your input please.

Also new graphics colours have been deployed - using less Red based on your feedback.

Hi Stephen - Thanks for the update. Nice to see that these are long term plans and not just things the producer on the day tries, and then gets forgotten when whoever else is in. I like the band, it states clearly what exotic bets are coming up, so thumbs up to that. It would be nice if the band could be running all the time - As I type this, the band is off the screen and I am watching Warren doing the interviews.

My feedback would be more generalized, to show us more racing coverage (Local and overseas), and less non-revenue generating footage, like interviews with people that are reading off pages in full screen, while quality overseas racing is happening.

SW18 it is refreshing to see establishment figures interact among your target market, it is something that has had a short shelf life previously so hopefully you have a thicker skin than those before you.

I have to ask a few questions of you and please do not see this as an attack, it is in most cases a statement of fact in where we currently find ourselves.

My first is why you do not allow fixed odds betting alongside your tote dividends? This juvenile extension of the previous regimes treatment of bookmakers has landed 4R where you are today. You are not superior nor do you have any god-given right of supremacy in the racing environment. Yesterday we had the MARSHALLS WORLD OF SPORT Gold Cup run at HOLLYWOODBETS Greyville, yet we cannot have fixed odds scrolling alongside tote dividends. Does the irony not extend to your board? Stop this idiocy and sell the fixed odds business to the highest bidder and be shot of this nonsense. Your CUSTOMERS need this information regardless of the politics you engage in.

My second question relates to carryover pools. Why do you not give punters a running tally of what amount is in the various kitty's? This is after all THEIR money not yours.

My third question is why has there been no disclosure of tote performance since you ( 4R ) has taken over? I get it that you're a Oppenheimer charity case but surely to goodness this is in the punting publics interest? Perhaps the Phumelela influence still runs strong seeing you have the majority of that useless lot among you. Talking about employment, when are you going to introduce new faces to the channel? All I see is a tired rehash of what was there before. Do you have any initiatives to identify and train up new presenters?

My fourth question relates to sectional timing. How have the trials gone? Who is responsible for the accuracy of the data and are you happy with the initial results? Could you give indications of whether this will form part of the current subscription going forward or will this be a separate add-on?

My last comment is that with double the budget you have thus far delivered less of a product than Tellytrack did. I thought that this was impossible to be honest. Could you give us feedback on your plans going forward and how things are ( hopefully ) going to improve.

One man’s meat is another one’s poison with no given special privilege. Channel 240 is a breath of fresh air. We are in the 21st century and dinosaurs are long instinct. Those opposed to change can be left behind as its their choice, we live in a democracy . So a Job well done!!! as Rome wasn’t built in a day. As a more levelled approach why not use a fixed odds scroll as an income generating mechanism. Either provide the services as a package to the fixed odds meeting sponsoring house or allow any fixed odd house to display its odds at a programme fee per meeting. No takers no odds per meeting as everybody is running a business aren’t they? And the last time I looked nothing in life is free try go get a free taxi ride to the corner grocery.

......although an improvement is noted....there are still some basics that need attention.....

1. Putting that tote betting slide all over the picture while horses are in the parade ring....or going down to the start or while loading....is this absolutely necessary....as home viewers we want to see the horses and not the betting as we have devices laptop or phones with that info at hand.....:huh: Besides the betting/odds is in the bar bellow...:dry:

2. The posting of the provisional results and showing a 3rd place payout while the field is less than 8 horses and no such dividend applies. See this very often

3. Posting absolutely the wrong provisional result.. ..if the staff in the studio are not sure....then rather not post or display at all

......local racing is still on life support....so much harm was done in the past regime and then the Covid crisis almost killed it....then a benefactor pledged support and we looked like being saved.....only to see the very same mistakes being ,made and precious resources being squandered again....and while putting effort to bring the media broadcasting up to a palatable product.....the finance producing engine being the totalizator starts to flounder.....:ohmy:

Hi Stephen

In my humble opinion i have to say, for me, there's been some good improvement in the quality of the pictures being sent out. I love the various cameras you guys have put in the stalls at the start for us to get a bird's eye view of what's happening there. Also around the course as the horses are running every now and then you switch to them. The super slow motion is my favourite, love that. I have a few gripes but i hope in time you will deliver a product that everyone will be happy with, good luck with that :whistle:
