A Grand weekend follow up
3 years 2 months ago
Good morning all from a wet, coldish Pretoria .
At the time of posting, still awaiting to find out if we do have racing from Turffontein? Does not look promising but fingers crossed.
Had a few drinks with Georgie the Greek last night and he is over the moon with St Patrick’s Day and our good friend Zietsman.
Just a recap on the Aintree meeting.
Day one: the punters thought they were off to a flyer with Pied Piper hitting the front over the final fence.
Then the drama unfolded with a dead heat, followed by a disqualification and the saving grace was our friendly bookie regards that as a refund 👍
We then had the CLAN winning the Chase at decent odds and Epatante running a blinder at 2/1. How good is Honeysuckle?
Yesterday even a better day with both Jonbon evens and Fakir Doudairies 12/10 arriving for the punters. It begs the next question, how good is Constitution Hill?
I know next years clash is far away but Honey vs Constitution........WOW
Getting back to today where Edwardstone looks the part but the bookies have a habit of fighting back where one of the hotties fails.
As far as the National, not sure if you opened the link of Crisp and Red Rum they were actually 9/1 joint that day.
The latest betting today is around 12/1 the field with money coming for Rachael on Minella Times (can she do it again)?
I am going for Delta Work to beat the very popular Snow Leopardess.
Would also mention I will stick with Champ to beat the fav Flooring Porter.
Good Punting

16 atm just down the road from you Bob, but I do have the central heating on.
I would usually pick 6 or 7 runners and play them all each way but today it’s just 2. Cloth Cap @ 25/1 and Agusta Gold @ 80/1

With the looks of the ladies at Aintree yesterday it would appear you are having a heatwave.

Snow Leopardess
(The first Mom to race in the National on record).
(One of three greys).
I think she has the best form and on board is a top jock.

I referred to the National yesterday and my dire selections over many years.
I will repeat that I cannot recall close to any luck in this race.
However I will be watching with minimal investment:
FIDDLERONTHE ROOF
ANY SECOND NOW
BURROWS SAINT

Was listening to Clyde saying a few words on the National where he watched a link with one horse many lengths in front and got caught.
The detailed link I sent from ABC to Clyde.
He then says he received a call from Jack Milner to say it was Crisp and Red Rum
What were the odds they just happened to watch a race from 1973 and it was not via ABC.
Never mind what goes around comes around.

This has been happening for the past two days. I think the commingling is not taken into account prior to the race.
