Simple...Crack the Whip....those that are paid to do a job must do it or be replaced...there is so much history to learn from .... even a novice gambler can see how bad the basic transmission of racing is doing...no need for consultants just watch a few days of racing and start there...

MS is the investor. The people she employed to run the business must present to her a clear plan of what they are going to achieve, how they are going to achieve it, and by when. Their remuneration package must be performance based.

There certainly won't be any sorry from Mary Slack.
However maybe the team in charge should share the mission and strategic plans going forward.
This should cover 240 future coverage and tote innovations?

Do you know the old saying “Racing is for kings and cnuts. I don’t see any kings around here”. We punters are the latter, we don’t know what happens behind the scenes.

Mac, it's true that we don't know definitively what is happening there. But the results can give a clue, and the endless complaints about the same gripes regarding ch240 can give us some clues. It gives the impression that they don't "give a cr@p", which then begs the question around accountability. There "appears" to be none.

MDK approached Mary when the ship was sinking,in all due respect she had no clue who to put in place to run the sinking ship he did,MDK put Savage there no one else.Lets look at the facts.....
When Steward and the Oyster box man were bombed they were asked "who they thought should stay on and who should go".
All their chommies stayed.
Savage put Steven Watson there
Savage put Bill Clucas there to head up betting
Mary had no clue who these people were but savage most certainly did these were his mates.
The two areas that are failing dismally is channel 240 and betting.
Savage has been heard saying that "this is harder than what I thought it is"
Savage thought that Patrick Davis was the new Messiah he is now realizing that Davis is a liability at 300k a month and Davis is not the favorite boy anymore.
My prediction is Davis won't last the next couple of months as they don't need someone who is living in the UK while Rome is burning.
Besides Savage won't take the blame for any of this so they'll make Davis the scape goat.
Savage has allowed the Western Cape to dictate on the workings of Racing but they are the "poor cousins" in all of this.
The Western Cape can never stand alone as they will fold,but yet they continue to dictate why??
Snaith resigned off the Western Cape board but continues too have all the say there.
He puts his first cousin in charge of sales and marketing (Sue Snaith sister son)and they also take over sales and marketing of JHB.
They refused too have a prawn festival in the Cape and Jhb because it was Clyde Basels idea (and a huge success) choosing instead to have a Seafood festival which was a total flop,when they had the Prawn festival they ran cues from 10am in the morning and in fact running out of prawns by 2pm in both provinces,i was told that if they had 200 people at the Cape Town seafood festival it was a lot and I was fortunate to be at Turfontein last Saturday and if they had 100 people at their event it was a lot (I have photos backing this up)
The fact of the matter is yes the old guard made mistakes but the new guard is is far worse and this will continue to decline as long as Mary chooses to keep Snaith and Savage at the helm making the poor decisions that they are currently making.

@methinks I have noted from some of your past posts that you were clearly either employed by Phumelela or a subsidiary. You have stated that you were in meetings when things transpired. If what you claim is true, then obviously you were part of the previous management. You have for the second time now stated that Parick Davis is on a salary of R300000 a month. This equates to what Larry Wainstein and Vee Moodley earn. How sure are you of this number? At face value it appears to be grossly inflated for what the man does. Could you perhaps divulge how you know the salary, and perhaps enlighten me why the man justifies the money he is paid?

Please carry on exposing these things. The guilty deserve to be identified.

Over the Air,Patrick Davies salary is 100% correct in fact John Stewart brought him back when he took over from Riaan because he hated Clyde Basel,Patrick was remployed on a permanent basis but resigned shortly after being remployed,Stewart begged him to stay albeit on a contractual basis.
More importantly Dorrie Sham has handed in her license with the rumor mill suggesting that another two trainers will be doing the same as well as owners leaving the game in droves,Western Cape Racing (through the RA)invested 7 Bar into the Kenilworth building a couple of months ago so that the 50 people on course can have lunch including Jonathan Snaith and John Freeman,surely instead of investing this type of cash into a sinking ship they would invest the cash into stakes to keep trainers and owners in the game.

@methinks thank you for your answer. I must admit that if it is accurate that a man was paid at least three times his worth just because his boss disliked Clyde Basel, just typifies the excesses at Phumelela.

Why would 4Racing honour such an agreement?
