Hollywoodbets Greyville Turf Sunday 13 March – Comments by Devonne Govender

Race 1: 7 BOUNDLESS BASH 5 EDDIE THE MOVER 3 IN WITH A CHANCE

Preview : (7) BOUNDLESS BASH put in two smart efforts and is the obvious first choice as there isn’t too much off raced runners form to go by. EDDIE THE MOVER comes of the same form line as the first selection and should be right there. (3) IN WITH A CHANCE will improve over the step up in trip based on his pedigree. (Devonne Govender 7-5-3)

Race 2: 7 KHANYISA INDLELA 9 RED SOLE 12 SPY MASTER 1 BEECHURST

Preview : (7) KHANYISA INDLELA was fancied in the betting in his last start but jumped slow and ran on fairly well from the back. He may well have been a tad bit green but he would have benefited from the experience and a much better performance is expected if he jumps on terms. (9) RED SOLE has been very expensive to follow however he is consistent and one of these days he will get it right. (12) SPY MASTER will improve from his last run and could possibly win this. (1) BEECHURST is very consistent and another good run is expected. (Devonne Govender 7-9-12-1)

Race 3: 10 MILKTART 2 MIA SOPHIA 7 AUSTEN 3 CLAUDINA

Preview : It’s important to watch the betting support for first timers as this is a very tricky race, include as many as possible. (10) MILKTART will definitely come on from the experience. She is the first choice but with no degree of confidence. She ran in a four-horse field on debut however the stable mentioned she is a very nice horse. (2) MIA SOPHIA is never far back and has a chance. (7) AUSTEN is another who can improve on recent runs. (3) CLAUDINA can fill in the minor placings. (Devonne Govender 10-2-7-3)

Race 4: 11 GREY VIEW 13 RAVENS SWORD 5 ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA 12 SHOT OF COURAGE

Preview : There are many in this race who will improve. (11) GREY VIEW has had many chances but has been consistent and comes off good form lines. 13 RAVENS SWORD made a decent debut and will improve. (5) ANOTHERDAYINAFRICA wasn’t far back lengths wise and will improve. (12) SHOT OF COURAGE ran a fair race in his last start and is open to improve on that performance. (Devonne Govender 11-13-5-12)

Race 5: 3 MADIBAS CUPPA 2 TRITON 8 COLOUR MASTER 1 LA DREAMER

Preview : (3) MADIBA’S CUPPA was narrowly beaten in his last start and looks the right one here.He has good form and could be a possible banker and it could pay to go light in the pick 6 here and load the other races up. (2) TRITON is very consistent and another honest effort can be expected. (8 ) COLOUR MASTER ran well after the taking of the blinkers and he won’t be far. (1) LA DREAMER can fill up the quartet and does get the fillies allowance. (Devonne Govender 3-2-8-1)

Race 6: 2 CIVIL RIGHTS 6 AUNTY LIZZY 8 LADY CATHERINE 7 CALULO

Preview : Tough race.(2) CIVIL RIGHTS ran well returning after a break. She has run in strong company as a juvenile and will win this if the second run after a rest doesn’t catch her out. It must be noted this yard knows how to bring them back and she must be respected. If (6) AUNTY LIZZY repeats her last run she will be in the shake-up. She is now back on the turf and Kaiden Brewer has stuck with her. (8 ) LADY CATHERINE is extremely consistent and can win this. (7) CALULO also comes of the same form line as many others in this fields and cannot be discounted. (Devonne Govender 2-6-8-7)

Race 7: 5 PEARL OF ASIA 3 SOCRATES 1 TEMPTING FATE 11 MOUNT PLEASANT

Preview : (5) PEARL OF ASIA is a grade one winner and this is more his sort of trip. He has Marcus up and will be involved. (3) SOCRATES has been very consistent; he is as honest as the day is long and will run well. (1) TEMPTING fate was always highly rated by his yard and if he brings his “A” game he will win. (11) MOUNT PLEASANT is also holding his form and is definitely not out of this. (10) COIN SPINNER is lightly raced and goes for four wins on the bounce, it will be interesting so see how he handles this company because he clearly has ability. (Devonne Govender 5-3-1-11)

Race 8: 4 AL’S MY DADDY 14 TIME TAKER 5 WINTER WAVES 10 LOVE THE VIEW

Preview : (4) AL’S MY DADDY is holding solid form and looks the one to beat from a good draw and top rider. (14) TIME TAKER is very consistent and has a 4kg claimer up which will do him some good however he does have a very wide draw and will need luck in running. (5) WINTER WAVES is in top form and has a lively chance. (10) LOVE THE VIEW was narrowly beaten and gets a rider who is in top form so is a must include. The race doesn’t end here as there are a few in with chances. (Devonne Govender 4-14-5-10)

Well that was stiff...
How many times did Ashton Arries look to his left?
Should be head down and ride to the line
