HOLLYWOODBETS SCOTTSVILLE - 23 JANUARY - Andrew Harrison
RACE 1: 3 ONLY HEARTS 1 WOODLAND RETREAT 5 BAUBLES AND BEADS 8 POWER OF EIGHT
Preview: Tricky. Mike Miller sends out another herd, best of which could be ONLY HEARTS (3) given the Serino Moodley had the choice ahead of WOODLAND RETREAT (1). The former goes the extra furlong so there may not be too much between them. Add a number of first timers from yards that like to get them going early and the betting should be your best guide. (Andrew Harrison: 3-1-5-8 ).
RACE 2: 3 GLADATORIAN 11 SUPERIOR FORCE 12 COLOUR OF MONEY 8 ACTION STATIONS
Preview: Guessing game with some many unraced runners. Dennis Drier usually has one or two up his sleeve for Champions Season and GLADATORIAN (3) may be worth watching in the betting. Mike Miller has plenty of runners, SUPERIOR FORCE (11) possibly the pick. COLOUR OF MONEY (12) found strong market support on debut and should improve. ACTION STATIONS (8 ) could be another first timer to watch. (Andrew Harrison: 3-11-12-8 ).
RACE 3: 8 QUEEN MERCURY 12 NOBLE STORM 13 WINTER JOURNEY 5 REGINAS ANGEL
Preview: QUEEN MERCURY (8 ) is lightly raced and although returning from a break she has shown enough to have a strong chance in this line-up. NOBLE STORM (12) comes from a very much in form stable and jockey combination. Narrowly beaten last start and will probably start favourite. WINTER JOURNEY (13) has good form in blinkers but may prefer it a touch shorter. REGINAS ANGEL (5) has been consistent on the poly. Has some ability. (Andrew Harrison: 8-12-13-5).
RACE 4: 12 WINTER AIR 5 PREEMPTIVE STRIKE 9 BANZAI PIPELINE 14 CAPTAIN WHO
Preview: Open handicap. WINTER AIR (12) has drawn wide but was an impressive maiden win. He got hammered by the handicappers but does look progressive and gets the benefit of the doubt. PREEMPTIVE STRIKE (5) has been knocking on the door of late. Goes well this trip and should make a bold bid. BANZAI PIPELINE (9) took on much stronger last start and was not disgraced. He is useful. CAPTAIN WHO (14) has the worst of the draw and heads the weights but appears to have found himself. (Andrew Harrison: 12-5-9-14).
RACE 5: 1 GO MAN GO 3 SPRING HIGH 8 VIA SALARIA 10 MR GONZALES
Preview: GO MAN GO (1) returns from a short break and seems best on the grass. He did well from a tough draw last start and can do much better here. Stable companions SPRING HIGH (3) and VIA SALARIA (8 ) both has useful recent form. The former may prove the stable elect judged on jockey bookings. MR GONZALES (10) met weaker last run but got a 5-point penalty for his effort. Still has a handy weight and can feature. (Andrew Harrison: 1-3-8-10).
RACE 6: 5 FLYING STAR 4 HER ROYAL MAJESTY 11 LUNAR ECLIPSE 8 ANCIENT EPIC
Preview: Tricky. FLYING STAR (5) has dropped in the handicap and has shown her best form over this course. HER ROYAL MAJESTY (4) was touched off on the poly last run. Best distance and holding form well. LUNA ECLIPSE (11) is a bit of a tricky customer but showed up well first run out of the maidens. Lightly raced from a form stable. ANCIENT EPIC (8 ) ran a cracker after her maiden win. Marcus is back on board. (Andrew Harrison: 5-4-11-8 ).
RACE 7: 13 AFTER THE RAIN 4 MOUNT PLEASANT 7 SOCRATES 15 SOLID GOLD
Preview: Punter’s nightmare. One can make a winning case for most of the runners and even in a wide perm you may miss out. AFTER THE RAIN (13) tried to make all in the Queen’s Plate but it was too far in Gr1 company. He is back over a sprint and a course that he knows well. MOUNT PLEASANT (4) battled to get going in the soft last run over a mile. He has shown glimpse of his best form. SOCRATES (7) was narrowly beaten by Mount Pleasant last run and hardly ever runs a bad race. SOLID GOLD (15) is not the easiest to catch right but he loves this track and if in the mood must have a good chance. Go wide in the exotics. (Andrew Harrison: 13-4-7-15-11-6).
RACE 8: 5 LIKETHECLAPPERS 13 CYBER TIME 7 CORAL COPY 11 NAPOLEON
Preview: Difficult with many runners that may prefer this trip having to date been confined to sprints. Betting will be your best guide. LIKETHECLAPPERS (5) raced very green and not too far back on debut. Should much prefer this trip. CYPER TIME (13) does not have the best of draws but was close-up last run and should make a bold bid. CORAL COPY (7) is a battling veteran but never far back. But he is proven over the trip. NAPOLEON (11) was a beaten odds-on chance last start and can make amends. (Andrew Harrison: 5-13-7-11).
