Thor he's an excellent trainer and he would boost our training ranks.
As in everything in life when there's competition the weak ones soon call it a day.

Re: David Ferraris
3 years 6 months agoThe last thing we need is more trainers in this country.
Imagine if DF startedtrainng here and promoted buying horses to train in SA under his direct control...How many rich clients could he bring over? You obviously have not thought it through

I am not denying any of what anyone is saying here. What I said is, South Africa does not need any more trainers currently. If anyone would like to explain why this statement is wrong I am happy to take it on the chin. Fix everything else and then owners and trainers will flow.
Admittedly perhaps my fault for posting this on a topic about DF, so I do understand why comprehension is perhaps harder for some, even upon rereading.

For what it's worth, I think DF, or anyone that trains in Hong Kong currently, would be a great coup for SA racing.

There is no more money in SA racing. If you look at the past 10 years few big owners have made their money in a completely honest fashion. M M and M are just 3 examples. For them it’s just a way of spending I’ll gotten gains. If he can bring international owners with money great for SA racing. They just can’t expect a return on investment

Sounds like he’s thrown the dummy out the pram?
Read article from SCMP www.scmp.com/sport/racing/article/316084...elf-fitting-farewell
“ Ferraris was quoted this week in ANZ Bloodstock as saying he is sad to leave his owners and that he is so “exhausted” by the disloyalty in Hong Kong and a general lack of support that he does “not want to train another horse, ever”
