Work Rider - Honest Riding@Vaal 8 Races (5 favourites win & 3 favourite run 2nd)

Vaal worker riders meeting, all eight races the favourite either won or ran second. Most punters made money imo. Some may say horse ran to form, imo it was pure unadulterated riding to win with no outside influence.

WHEN LAST CAN ANYBODY REMEMBER RESULTS LIKE THE ABOVE. THATS WHAT I CALL HONEST RIDING.

The operates should have more Work Rider event.

Before we get carried away we must remember there was no handicaps on the card and Maidens are usually more straight forward to win.. Especially when there is a huge gulf between the the talent of some of the Work Riders

Great for punters when favorites win but lets compare apples with apples.
Firstly it was only maiden races, not handicaps. And 6 of the 8 fields had a average merit rating less than 60. That suggest very poor/average maiden fields .
Average ratings were 58 56 64 56 65 53 58 59 .... compare that to last meeting and next meeting at fairview..... 5 maiden races 64 69 64 66 60 average.
Yesterday was a punters dream card nomatter who was riding.

Greyville race 1 qualified maiden plate so probably like a handicap though but still shouldn't have been beaten that far.

4 Global Path 3.03 3.33 3.57
One ridden by Khumalo the other by De Melo.
Killing each other up front and both duly fade out of it and get beaten a minimum of 10 lengths and more.
Don't think the work riders yesterday rode many of these types of races with the favorites.

In other words a maiden race merit rating of under 60 you are assured the favourite will either finish 1st or 2nd, immaterial of the jock. I don't agree with your logic.

Yeah I also would have thought the lower a horses rating the more inconsistent the horse would be so those types of results with low rated horses is good.

Tipping Better Days to run a big race and it ends up getting beat by 21 lengths is also right up there, Scraping........and then it runs again on Friday. Maybe a soft ride so that it can win this week?

BETTER DAYS (W Kennedy) pulled hard in the early stages. Thereafter, Jockey W Kennedy reported that he felt something amiss with BETTER DAYS in the running and did not persevere with his ride from the 150m. The Course Veterinary Surgeon was requested to examine.

Then you should go and read the post about "a concerning trend these days"......you just gave another example of how jockeys pull up horses for no reason. Something amiss, but the horse runs 7 days later, what a joke.....making a mockery of the game!
