It’s probably me?

Good morning all, hope you are keeping well in this continued state of racing limbo .

Maybe I have become a keyboard warrior during these uncertain times but trying to remain positive.

It’s probably just me ?

I was going to take Knock on Wood as my song for the week, this was based on the line “it’s like thunder, it’s like lightning, the way we abandon racing, is frightening”.

I am well aware of the fear we have Incase a horse or jockey gets injured.
However the odds on a death due to lightning is 500000/1. So similar to catching the Pick 6.

If one ways up the damage to racing and promoting the sport vs the trigger happy people responsible for making the decision, IMO it’s an over cautious call?

We really have to be less trigger happy with the lightning meter.
I have posted on this subject but just to remind people what the trainer, owner, jockey and racing has to endure with such a call is heartbreaking.

It’s probably me ?

The Breeders Cup build up was a rather anti climax due to none transmissions of the event but racing from the big T certainly made up for it with some great performances, especially WOA.

We look forward to a very exciting Summer Cup day and hopefully by then 4Racing will eventually have the license and get into the driving seat at last?
Changes at Tellytrack can hopefully become official.
Beltway coming on board could be a shrewd move to move exotic money back into the Tote.
Randjies being used as a possible race venue is also an exciting prospect.

Power outages are very inconvenient and costly for industry, service delivery for many will remain a pipe dream now that the voting is over.

Flights are booked one way to Durban for December and the Fleetwood Mac tribute is a gogo for for New Year.

Sorry about the moaning, it’s probably me. 😎😢

Good Punting and may your God be with 🙏

Someone wanted to fight with me yesterday for posting about Randjie and the rich boys club that's going to be set up their... He says he's quite happy going to the BigT with his Dad (probably been once in 10 years though)

I am just having a look at the weather conditions at Aqueduct between changing channels

They are horrendous and not one word about the racing being held back or canceled.

Dave, not seen the conditions yesterday at Aqueduct, but I do recall them racing in the sloppiest slop I've ever seen at Gulfstream and not making anything of it. The only time America cancels their racing is when there is a heat wave of epic proportion, which is specific to America. As with most other jurisdictions, everything just seems to work.

Remember their tracks are built to withstand heavy rains so they are still safe in those conditions. They often run in slop.

Yeah it was built for that.
Maybe our polytracks should have used the materials the USA use.

I follow American racing alot and there are few bookies that offer bets in USA racing in the night and early morning from a host of tracks like, Del Mar, Keeneland, Santa Anita which are not covered by Tellytrack. As with most American tracks, they race on dirt. Aqueduct has a dirt surface and not a synthetic surface. They are tracks in USA like, Golden Gate Fields, Presque Isle Downs that race on Tapeta, different from Polytrack. Gulfstream just introduced a Tapeta track in late September in addition to their dirt and turf track. Interestingly, Woodbine changed from Polytrack to Tapeta. Southwell in UK will be a Tapeta surface when they race again. Only Lingfield is Polytrack. Some tracks in America has gone back to dirt after racing on synthetic surfaces like Santa Anita. Toowoomba, in Australia has gone back to turf. Also note in America when it rains, they have different types of going, sloppy, sealed and fast. In some instances the times are faster on a wet track.

Below is a video of Woodbine last year in atrocious conditions.
