Good afternoon all and hope you’re still alive and kicking.

As time moves on and feeling old the departure lounge gets busier with friends.
Still trying to keep busy and active during retirement.
Hope we can eventually witness an upswing in racing before we get the last call to board the stairway to heaven.

Watched a Clint Eastwood movie the other day, it’s called The Mule .
I’m sure Clint is a very popular screen idol to many over the years and I could not believe he made this movie for his 88th birthday to act and direct.
He certainly is an inspiration to keep us all going and in the movie he finds the perfect retirement job, I just need the cell number.
Plus a couple of naughty times with young lassies where I hope he used a stand in?

Local racing is rather flat at the moment and overseas will basically finish soon, the last classic where Hurricane Lane continues to shorten for the St Leger, October where we have the ARC 5/2 Snowfall and 9/2 Adayar, plus Queen Elizabeth II where Palace Pier could clash with Baaeed.
We will then move to the jumps.

As normal on the site, I try to be as transparent as possible with our Humble Tune .
The card on Thursday certainly gave us a few nomination options, including an experimental run over 2600 mt where we got a good draw.
To be honest, we thought the price would be double figures against a few proven stayers but if we do stay the distance, it will be a pleasure to have a horse with plenty flexibility for the future.
It will also confirm if the Champion Hurdle at CHELTENHAM Is a dream or not, we have to beat Honeysuckle.

Last word on growing old, this google can be a nightmare as various aches and pains appear.
Last week I thought I had a touch of bulimia, I eat and drink as much as possible but the bit where you stick your finger down your throat and lose weight has not kicked in yet.

I will leave you with the theme song from the movie

Good Punting and may your God be with you.

I think there is Gr1 sprint at Haydock on Sat but I don’t see any star names.
