Race (1)
Night Ruler supported on debut and with natural improvement should be involved in this finish. Watch the betting on the first timers.
Race (2)
Area Fifty One making improvement race by race.
Race (3)
On exposed form, Trip Of Fortune. Watch the betting on the first timer, Running Rifles.
Race (4)
Safe To Assume debut win was full of merit, slow away, then headed about 200 out but rallied back to win. Form has been franked by second-placed finisher Princess Santo who is 1.5kg better off for that 0.75 beating, however I think if Safe To Assume gets away on terms she will finish ahead of Princess Santo again.
Race (5)
Duplicity, last run was an odd race in that the three year olds dominated the betting, and finished last and second to last respectively, Duplicity and Starboard. Maybe the three year olds weren’t physically strong enough a month ago going the 1600m. Today a furlong shorter I expect Duplicity to get into the mix.
Race (6)
Marina, can only think the stable thought that by receiving weight from the boys last time out she would win the first leg of the Colts Winter Series. Far from disgraced when finishing 3rd 0.80 off the winner. Today back against her own sex, should take some stopping, probably the best bet on the card.
Race (7)
Warrior looks the one to beat and should appreciate the extra. Fourie cannot allow Firealley to get away albeit of further, this is being run on the Winter course with a shorter running in. Last time Warrior reeled Fire Alley in very late, won’t have that luxury today especially if Firealley is allowed to set the pace.
Race (
Aye Aye has been competing against stronger, on face value the form appear average but is dropping in class here and should go close.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

We have had quite a bit of rain this week, so course should be soft. No wind expected.
Race 1. Of those that have raced, Dragonfly, Night Ruler and Tout A Fait should fight it out. Zoutman fair debut from a yard that does not push its babies, so plenty scope for improvement.
Race 2 Cruizin California good debut and is the one to beat. Area Fifty One, Veronique the main dangers. Seeking Peace, Dame Colleen, Impressive Queen and Royal Oasis for back end of quartets.
Race 3 The older horses are not too smart- best of them is Empire Glory. Trip of Fortune is first choice. Support in the market for Running Rifles.
Race 4 Quite open. First choice is L'Ami Jean, looks the most scope for improvement. Chilly Winter now off a very competitive MR. Princess Santo and Queen Niyabah solid form. Fours a Crowd better than last and can surprise.
Race 5 I'm hoping that Major Attraction can step up and win again, but Chile Jam right there last time. Duplicity disappointed last time but can improve. Miss Smarty Pants and Rille are now off very competitive ratings.
Race 6. Although Marina ran well against the colts last time, I think that there is very little between any of these fillies, and I can't have her at skinny odds. The rank outsider, Pink Tourmaline beat her in January! I'm going the field in exotics.
Race 7 Warrior keeps on improving, and the way he has finished off his races should see out the trip even though the dam seemed a sprinter. Obviously the one to beat but a skinny price. Hoedspruit clearly something amiss last time, and if at his best a big threat, as he sees out this trip and further. Firealley a soft lead last time, but blinkers have improved him and could get away with similar tactics. A question mark about the trip, but is out of a Galileo mare so should be given the benefit of the doubt. His MR should be 101 on his run last time, not 97. So Flawless has a chance at the weights.
Our boy, Crimson King has had a good prep coming into this race, will prefer the extra, and was not 100% fit last time. I'm expecting a huge run, and he has the class to upset the favourite.
Race 8. Very open, and no strong selection. I'm a bit surprised that Fourie has chosen Aye Aye over Imperial Ballet- I think that Khathi is on the better option. Larentina and hidden Strings have dropped to very competitive ratings, but need to regain their mojo.

Better not to touch the 2 year old races in the Cape.
We know just as much as the trainers, nothing.
33-1 winner and Snaith's third choice also at 33-1 comfortably beats it's 2 other much more fancied stablemates.

Thought the bookies put both the punters and Stan off, the winner looked good going down and started at decent odds.
