Can Linebacker beat them again? yes, not sure whether that will be a good or bad thing for his merit rating in relation to the weight he will carry. If he wins and his rating goes above 126, then he won't come in under sufferance, but takes him a lot closer to GTGL at the weights.

I'll just hold on the the fact that when there has been a dominant three year old, they've done well in the July.

Wow, have you seen the latest betting on the Woolavington? Captain's Ransom has walked in the market.

Probably a more fair reflection of their chances - as I posted yesterday, Princess Calla was good value at those prices - now it is a toss-up imo

WAR vs Captains was good enough but if we add the Princess and possibly Netta, it's a cracker 😉

The Captain is scratched 😢

Captain's Ransom will not take part in the Gr1 Woolavington this weekend. This Gr1 event was never part of her KZN campaign but she will most definitely run in the Gr1 Jonsson Workwear Garden Province as originally planned.

After discussions with her owners, Suzette and Basie Viljoen, we felt that going from a mile to a 2000m race, and then back to a mile was far from ideal.

Justin has big plans for her during the Cape Summer Season ahead.

I haven't taken an ante post bet on the Woolavington, but surely the stable knew way in advance they weren't going to run Captain's Ransom. In this day and age of ante post coming our early, which is a good thing, why not let the public and bookies know she is a doubtful runner.

The fact that Princess Calla shortened so drastically, someone in the know knew Captain's Ransom was never going to take her place in this race, because she didn't shorten when Captain's Ransom drifted, she shortened long before that.
