NOORESH JUGLALL'S STATE OF HEALTH GIVES RISE TO SERIOUS CONCERNS
Details
Published: 15 May 2021
The Mauritian horse racing world is holding its breath. Victim of a very nasty fall in the main race of the opening day, endowed with the Noble Salute Cup (Group 3) and contested today, in a sprint of 990 meters, Nooresh Jugall is in very critical condition. Indeed, the state of Nooresh Juglall who piloted the 'top weight' of the Gilbert Rousset team, Rule The Night is considered worrying. At 7:00 p.m., he was still unconscious and was placed on life support. Benny Woodworth (Golden Tractor) also involved in the crash, also suffered a serious elbow injury, but unlike Nooresh Juglall, he is conscious and is not cause for concern.

As we have said and said above, the job of jockey is dangerous and can prove to be fatal in the event of a fall, but no one at the Champ de Mars had predicted such a serious incident in a race where there was, however, only six starters. After a merciless fight for command, Rob Roy (Dinesh Sooful) fell back to the rope after 450 of the race, followed by Virtue (Nabil Batchameah), Kamadeva (Swapneel Rama), Quatro Five Six (Pravesh Horil), Golden Tractor (Benedict Woodworth) and Rule The Night (Nooresh Juglall).
Being a new courier, Golden Tractor was new to the Champ de Mars track, and as virtually all new units do, he skipped the crossing which is just before the entrance to the final straight, downhill. suddenly inward. Rule The Night which followed inside could not avoid it and the two horses found themselves on the ground with their jockeys who were both violently thrown.

They were rushed to the City Clinic. Nooresh Juglall was unconscious and bleeding profusely. Benedict Woodworth was in excruciating pain in his wrist and elbow, but he was conscious. If Rule The Night was able to regain his stable by cons Golden Tractor had to be euthanized, having fractured his shoulder.

We interviewed Soodesh Seesurrun, the Gilbert Rousset team's assistant coach and he told us: β€œThe situation is very alarming. Nooresh is in critical condition. No diagnosis could be made, but I can tell you it's bad. Benny himself suffered a fracture, but his condition does not cause any concern ”.

In these difficult times, we are wholeheartedly with Nooresh Juglall and his family. Denis Doger de Speville, Director of MTC Sports & Leisure did not hide his concern at the turn of events: β€œI know this is a very difficult time for the whole Juglall family but we can only remain optimistic. We are very upset but I hope that his state of health will stabilize and improve gradually during the evening. The MTCSL through its 'Health and Saftey Officer' Vikram Guptar is monitoring the situation very closely. Let us all pray that Nooresh will make it through, but I won't hide from you, I am very concerned. "

Seen the video of the race. The walkway caused the horse in front of the 2 horses that fell, to spook.
Happened just too fast to take evasive action.

Tragic beyond words.

You were a credit to the profession and touched our lives with your riding and post race interviews.
Just remembered now that you rode an outsider into 3rd place in the Durban July not too long ago.

RIP
Nooresh Juglall.
