Happy Mothers Day .........
I am predicting a very difficult pick 6 and possible carry over towards the Big race meetings.
Race 3 no "7" Diamonds and Toads"
Good Punting

Happy mothers day.
I agree with Dave. With all of the raiders it makes it near impossible for the exotics as to whether they will take to Scottsville .For example Cosmic Highway looks a possible banker in race 6 but it is a 2yo race and will he take to Scottsville? The same goes for Safe Return whereas Edgartown, Good Traveller and Chief Executive have won at Scottsville.
Play with caution.

A very interesting card, and hopefully not too much track bias. The first race should be a pointer.
Race 1 The first timer Gimme a Prince has been priced up odds on. He is out of a very smart mare, but not for me at such short odds. Hasta Manana good first run on the poly. Rowntree fair debut this track. Admiral's Ransom is a half brother to star filly Captain's Ransom, and gets 4kg claim, so i've had a couple of rand on that one at long odds for fun.
race 2 Party Time (I don't know how this name could be allowed as the Party Time multiple Gr 1 winning filly is active in pedigrees ) has run two good races and should go close. Incredibill has been priced up second favourite and could be anything. Noble Trip two fair runs, and the better run was on turf, so should be in the mix.
Race 3 The most surprising thing is that Warren Kennedy does not have a ride in this race. On form the two best are Global Appeal and Indigo Moon, but a few others with chances.
Race 4 This is a very competitive race, and just about anything could win.
race 5 High Hosana is a very smart filly and the one to beat. Civil Rights is the best local hope. Sound of Warning, the second foal of my star mare Siren's Call, won on debut, and makes the trip from Jhb. Hopefully she can step up, but I would think will be best when she goes around the turn. Casa Inferno is on the up, and Captain's Run has been busy, but can run.

Must admit, the sprint races at Scottsville, one knows one's fate after two races up the straight, whether your fancy is drawn on the right or wrong side of the track. That normally dictates the pattern for the remainder of the sprint races on the day.
So i think watch the first two races and you'll know the answer going into the feature races.
Race 1, Gimme A Prince (8/10) draw14, and second favourite, Hasta Manana (14/10), draw 2.
Race 2, will probably confirm which side the track bias favours because, we have favourite, Party Time (13/10) drawn 7, and second favourite, Incredibill drawn 15. They will try and gravitate to the "correct" side as quickly as possible from the break, because we've seen in past seasons, fancied runners being caught behind tiring horses, only to get a split late in the race and go down by a diminishing margin - the hard-luck story, which counts for nothing.
So onto Race 6, Cosmic Highway draw 1 which could be the kiss of death - reason being, this horse does not race fairly handy and could get caught behind the field hoping for a gap to open, if they run down the inside. A relativelly small field, but these things do and have happened, being baulked for a run. Conversely, if they go up the stand-side rail, he will run them down and win going away. The unknown when it comes to the Cape horses, Scottsville has been the downfall of many a good horse running there for the first time, especially Cosmic Highway, who in all probability is being aimed at the big sprint day next month (i think).
Second favourite, Safe Return, draw 10, and was on his bicycle from the get-go last time out, so by race time, the jockey should know where the "better" going is, and with good gate speed, get to where he wants to be. Like Cosmic Highway, it's also his first time at Scottsville, and he could also need the run, this being a prep-run for the big feature.
Third favourite, Good Traveller, drawn 7, could be best placed for opting "in or out" and who also has good gate speed could be the value here. Has run and won at the track, and should be race fitter that the two above him in the betting.
Sometimes in these juvenile races, times are the best guides. Cosmic Highway's winning time last time out, was faster than that of Rio Querari on the same day, yip, true, albeit over 1200m. We all know what Rio Querari went on to achieve in Johannesburg.
Safe Return's winning time on the day was also the quickest, but like Cosmic Highway, this could be a prep run, not saying either can't win though.
Good Traveller, his winning time over the distance was 63.39 and was the only race over the distance on the day. What i will say without wanting to be protagonist, that was in maiden company, and this would be his stiffest task to date. Guess the same can be said regards Safe Return, but Who Know Who has since confirmed that form. Good Traveller has had 4 winners from his debut since win, and no winners from his second win, win.
So, who am i siding with, Cosmic Highway, hoping they go fast enough to stretch the field out, thus creating gaps as horses start to tire - use it, don't use it, and best of luck.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race 1 and 2 all the talk for Gimme A Prince and Incredibill , will be interesting from those draws
Race 7: Favourita 9/2 on the run to Celtic Sea , if ready should win this imo
Value bet on the day for me is in Race 3: Regina's Angel , improving and looks ready to win , worth an eachway @12/1

Race 6 Cosmic Highway was very impressive last time, beating the best 2yos so far seen in CT quite comfortably. Safe Return and Good Traveller are both talented, and others to consider are Social Image and Uncomplicated.
race 7 Singforafa is very well in at level weights here, but ran a shocker last time. Not much between the Snaith pair of Keep the Lights On and Favorita. Roll in the Hay and Zimbaba make up the shortlist.
race 8 Our filly, Princess Anastasia, was not too cleverly entered under sufferance last time when raising her game to run a close second, but gets a huge penalty of 13lb. If she had run in a more suitable race, she could only have got 8lb penalty! Such are the idiotic rules we have to race under. She is a progressive filly and I'm hoping that she can show further improvement and win this. Its a very competitive F&M handicap, so plenty with chances.
race 9 With the scratching of Maestro Sonador, Deorsa should win this. Main danger is Cabinet Shuffle.
