Bling looks to have a decent chance of winning a couple today.

Personally fancy him on Magic School and Persica, race 4 and 5 double.

Fancy the double :-

R3) Ra'ed, taking on a field with ordinary form, from a decent draw expect him to be involved in the finish, if he gets away on terms, could be hard to beat.

R4) La Luvia, should be very competitive off that weight.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

I also like La Luvia. Right weight the jock knows him the price is right. I think it's one of the better bets this weekend but let's see how she goes

CMG...

R#1: Last Song impressive time l.t.o, Two Fools Collide big scope and It's Raining Men could be anything.
R#2: Eyes On Tiger owes me too much money, Belle Of Belize, Lazy Guy and Grappler should be right there.
R#3: Xola and Soldiers Song to come home lonely. Sitting Bull, Enigma Code and Ra'Ed for places.
R#4: Crossing fingers for Daren but I slightly prefer Wisteria Walk over La Luvia. Magic School and Princess Nicole should make the frame.
R#5: Greens are good for you and a Mind Reader can't be ignored. All of Me, Ulla and Persica can make the frame.
R#6: Cold Fact has them stone cold, Social Image and Gin And Tonic to complete the trifecta.
R#7: Summer Pudding and Youcanthurrylove for the exacta. Heart Stwings for places.
R#8: Path To The Stars at decent odds, The Villa Grand, Lagertha and Initiator for places.
R#9: Striker to bring home Emaline at a nice price. Anatura and Liverpool Legend for places.

break a leg.

TURFFONTEIN STANDSIDE SATURDAY MARCH 27 FORMGUIDES, SELECTIONS, PERMUTATIONS

by David Thiselton

RACE 1: Preview: LAST SONG (7) pulled on debut around the turn over 1450m yet still stayed on to just be pipped and the run suggests she will enjoy this shorter trip. TWO FOOLS COLLIDE (9) put up a good performance on debut a year ago, finishing fourth six lengths behind Afternoon Tea and Sweet Future, but she has not run since so might need this. ITS RAINING MEN (6) is by Soft Falling Rain out of a twice winning Brazilian mare who has produced the Grade 2 winning stayer Sweetie Pie and the Listed winning stayer Treajs Pots. (David Thiselton 7-9-6)

RACE 2: Preview: EYES ON TIGER (1) is a hard knocker who is the form choice over an ideal trip from a fair draw by trends. GRAPPLER (2) was just behind Eyes On Tiger in both of their meetings but has scope for improvement and it would be no great surprise if he reversed form. BELLE OF BELIZE (9) has disappointed over further but shows pace and is interesting dropped to this trip. LAZY GUY (3) just failed last time over 1200m around the turn when storming home after jumping from a wide draw and he should be in the shake up again in this slightly stronger field. KATZENTHAL (4) was 1,50 lengths behind Lazy Guy last time and could improve. (David Thiselton 1-2-9-3-4)

RACE 3: Preview: RA’ED (1) has a form chance from a good draw in this uninspiring field. ENIGMA CODE (2) has a tough draw but should be in the shake up. INFINITE WONDER (8 ) is by Wylie Hall out of a twice-winning Argonaut mare who is a half-sister to a dual Listed winner by Jet Master. (David Thiselton 1-2-8 )

RACE 4: Preview: WISTERIA WALK (2) is ideally course and distance suited and has developed into a classy sort so can overcome a tricky draw. MAGIC SCHOOL (1) also has class and is also course and distance suited and well drawn so it will be an intriguing contest. CORDILLERA (5) is a 1400m specialist but she is 2.5kg under sufferance with the best weighted Magic School. (David Thiselton 2-1-5)

RACE 5: Preview: MIND READER (2) is on the up and her formlines are strong so she can defy the handicapper again over this ideal 1000m trip. ALL OF ME (3) ran a good fourth in the Grade 3 Sycamore Sprint over 1160m last weekend and she will enjoy the step down in trip. MULETA (5) is a 6.5kg better of with Mind reader for a 1,25 length beating in December but the latter looks to have progressed significantly since then. GREENS (1) has pace and can do better than last time although she does have topweight to carry and a low draw is likely not in her favour. ULLA (6) beat Greens the last time they met and is 3kg better off with Mind reader for a 2,75 length beating. (David Thiselton 2-3-5-1-6)

RACE 6: Preview: UNDER YOUR SPELL (4) looks to have class as she was able to come from last over the quick Vaal 1000m course last time to win going away and she will definitely appreciate the extra 100m here so is the one to beat from a nice high draw. HEAVENS GIRL (7) is 2kg better off with Under Your Spell for a 1,25 length beating and she has proved she stays as far as 1200m so she will be a big threat from the highest draw. SOCIAL IMAGE (8 ) was beaten by a good one last time but on formlines and at the weights she has a good trifecta chance. COLD FACT (2) has won both of her starts easily but on jockey bookings Heavens Girl looks to be the stable elect. There is not much between GIN AND TONIC (6) and SOUTHERN CAPE (9) and the latter is 2kg better off with Under Your Spell for a three length beating. The first-timer ON THE WARPATH (10), one of only two males in the race, is by Coup De Grace out of an unplaced Captain Al mare and is a half-brother to the fair one-time winning sprinter Irrevocable Dream. (David Thiselton 4-7-8-2-6-9-10)

RACE 7: Preview: SUMMER PUDDING (4) has soundly beaten all of these runners before with the exception of Portico, who she has never met, and back on her own stamping ground she will likely be hard to beat as she has proven before that she can perform well after a layoff. ZILZAALL (1) won well over a too sharp 1400m last time and the former Summer Cup winner now looks to be back to his best. YOUCANTHURRYLOVE (2) is in good form and could also be a threat over a suitable trip. (David Thiselton 4-1-2)

RACE 8: Preview: DUCHESS OF NOW (2) won well on debut in a relatively good time and can follow up from a reasonable draw. LAGERTHA (10) has a fine chance on form but has unfortunately landed a low draw which is unfavourable by trends, although she does have good gates-peed and pace so might be able to overcome it. BELLA BLACK (5) has not had much luck lately but now gets the draw in her favour and it s over an ideal course and distance so she can bounce back off her reduced merit rating. (David Thiselton 2-10-5)

RACE 9: Preview: LIVERPOOL LEGEND (9) has poor luck with draws and has another tricky one but if finding cover she can be involved in the finish off an attractive merit rating. MAGIC VISION (6) enjoys this trip and has a form chance. FLYING FIRST CLASS (14) jumped from a wide draw last time when stepped up to 2000m with this 4kg claimer up and finished second so can repeat the feat from another wide draw. (David Thiselton 9-6-14)

Good day all

Sudden break looks a decent each way bet if you don't like the fav could be Muzi opening up with a double with eyes on tiger in the second
Race 6 Kotinos and cold fact
Race 7 heart stwings to trouble stable companion
Race 8 really fancy madame Patrice today jockey has had a decent week with couple winners
Race 9 if rabia the rebel was drawn better could be a big runner jockey on her seems to get on well with this horse in saying that Senescence should be in first 3

Outsiders to consider today
Broadway babe run behind differentiate Form lines have worked out well
Brave Jackson
Rouge allure
On the warpath first timer

Happy punting all

Listening and reading all the comments, I think it makes for an interesting day's racing, where no race bar the Colorado King looks clear cut - thoughts:

R2: 3 runners in the betting now scratched, making it easier for the BP - surely it lies between Eyes on Tiger, Grappler (tries blinkers) and Belle of Belize, who gets heaps of weight from the other 2 - any of those can win and should make up the trifecta

R3: Weakish looking Maiden; I do think that Enigma Code has the best form (gave subsequent winner Dark Vision 8 kgs and a beating) - just needs to overcome the draw; obvious danger is Ra'Ed, who has the benefit of a better draw, but I'm hoping Enigma Code will be tracking Ra'Ed into the 300m and pass him late; Soldier's Song I think needs further, but does get a 4kg allowance - I'm not convinced it will be enough; interesting is debutante Infinite Wonder, but that is drawn even wider than Enigma Code; so in summary I do like Enigma Code

R4: Competitive Pinnacle for the females; I'm in the camp of La Luvia as I think her form in the Cape still puts her in front of the handicapper and she has found steady support in the market - hopefully she can jump better this time, because I don't think she can afford to lose ground at the start against these; none of the others bar maybe Cockney Pride, who looks badly off form, can be ignored though - even Princess Nicole has a 6 kg swing at the weights with Wisteria Walk for a beating of less than 5 lengths, which theoretically brings her into the race as well; to summarize for me it is La Luvia or the field in the P6

R5: Very competitive F&M Handicap; Mind Reader still improving, but does have her work cut out at these weights and could easily run out of the top 4 for the first time since July last year - when she was beaten by Persica - who is 7.5 kgs better off today - making her current odds of 16/1 look very attractive - and Khumalo has taken the ride; Ulla will have to jump and go to take full advantage of her allowance and if so, can hold on; Muleta may have needed her last run. but on that is held by All of Me (and also by Greens on the run in October) - also has an inside draw which does detract from her chances imo; in summary I think lots with chances

R6: Juveniles - says it all - Under Your Spell ticks all the boxes, but Naarah and Cold Fact are very quick and could get away - being juveniles, any of the others can improve enough to win

R7: The Summer Pudding Stakes - would be a big shock to see her get beat at these weights; stable companion Heart Stwings may set the pace and hold on for 2nd

R8: Another F&M Handicap; Duchess of Now good Maiden win - has been set quite a stiff task by the handicapper, but is drawn towards the stand side, so could be good enough to defy the handicapper; The Villa Grand, Lady Nica and Path to the Stars all dropping steadily in the ratings and drawn on what should be right side of the track (looking at last week) so I'm including all of them; Twelve Oaks almost 2 years since her last win, but has run well this track and trip and should feature for this jock; I'm one of those that can't have Afternoon Tea especially from the inside draw - as is the case with Lagertha who imo needs 1000m; summary I think Duchess of Now may be good enough - otherwise quite a few needs inclusion

R9: Classified Stakes and the most open race on the card imo; interesting here is that they have taken out Flying First Class and put the claiming apprentice on Chevron, so that one probably needs to be considered; I still think Piccadilly Square is huge value at 16s; Mirren and Emeline could feature from good draws; summary - use that pin

Enjoy B)
