This is a brilliant thread. Just caught up.

Personally I could not give a continental for any other country. This country is all I care about.

And all the posts above are correct. We as citizens are being shafted.

The current Govt is using the pandemic to enrich themselves. The state of emergency has just been extended by another month.

We see corruption being planned and we say nothing.

Sadly the Governing party has the control. All they have to do is make promises. One day, you will also be rich. Keep on voting for us. If you die before it is your turn, sorry, you could not wait long enough. And the votes keep coming in.

For me, I stay in my little corner and do what I do best. I work hard to provide for my family. My kids will finish their degrees and disappear oversees. I will stay behind and enjoy this beautiful country

All we can do is our best in preparing the next generation for their futures, wherever it may be...sadly, the world is moving left and the younger generation are being force-fed its promises and lies from a young age so they are not really safe anywhere...they are book smart but not street smart and that is our/my (?) failing...in trying to protect them, we have handicapped them...

Economic collapse will force political change so it is my daily longing for the sinkhole to appear sooner (while I am still around to be able to weather its effects so that my daughter doesn't - we are more adaptable) so that it can be built bottom up by competent people that have for far too long have had to do things on the fringes as they have been marginalised...

....it may seem frivolous with all the other sh!t going on but when is the JRA/JHB Metro going to start fixing potholes
.....we live in the Mink and Manure belt with the highest rates/taxes in the land...and normally we have them repaired within days.....but for months now we have gaping holes all over the show.....especially near and around Megawatt park....Just recently they interviewed some tjop from JRA and he said that they had returned from holiday and now they have no tar nor the funds to buy tar.....:S

.....I see that one major pothole has been repaired.....but not by JRA/municipality....a property developer that is turning an office block into a residential block of flats has filled in the great hole in the road .....as I think that they may not attract renters to the development if the street outside looks like a BOMB CRATER....:oops:

Tip of the iceberg Muhti .... but a real indicator of the problem. If they cannot do the small things right... you know sure as phuck they not going to get the big things right. But what do I know... I am just a conservative anti-vaxxer who has not swallowed the blue pill {meanders off to swallow a red pill with a huge glug of Talisker 12 year old}

Why do CR7 and TM (Fin Min) talk about plants that rejuvenate when all the ANC Thiefs in Chief do is destroy with little or no probability of rebirth / re-juvenation?

And when I hear CR7 talk about "smell the coffee" and realise that he is suffering from a dissociation from the world the majority of citizens are living in...no clue how the majority are trying to survive the day while he and his fellow thieves gorge themselves on the public purse...theft in the past and current has robbed many of futures...

.....one has got to wonder if the greater JHB Metro is in b!g sh!t.....are they like the many many other municipalities that have gone t!ts up......no money for tar may sound rather trivial but surely the alarm bells must start ringing.... the Covid crisis may have cost millions of jobs of mainly tax base contributors and those of property owning middle class in the bigger metro areas ....the 1st bills to stop paying after cancelling car insurances is the rates&taxes... :ohmy:
