Kenilworth, 02/01

Race (1)
A difficult start to the day, whilst I am going with Superior Leader, coming back in distance is a real concern. Improved with every run, but beyond the sprints. If not done for early toe, will go very close. Watch for any money on the Marcus first timer. Captain Dizzy is the danger, but will stick with Superior Leader.
Race (2)
Think they struggling to work out the correct distance for Captain Who, on that alone I would be prepared to take him on despite what the market says. Bumrah has had a few attempts and never runs two similar races, can win, but I will let him win without my money. Picture The Moment could be the joker here. Cracked a fairly decent draw for the first time in four runs. Peak run and should be involved in the finish. Even money to finish in the first three is worth a bet, considering he does have a winning chance.
Race (3)
Given up trying to find a winner in these distance races, the result defies all logic most times. I’ll watch.
Race (4)
Capitana ran above her rating last time, a repeat of that effort and she should win this. Maledimo is the unknown quantity here. Capitana probably the banker on the day.
Race (5)
Very competitive race, can make an argument for most. Going to give Two Pennies another chance. Rating has dropped since the debut win, and they all one time winners, she could go close off the weight and from a decent draw.
Race (6)
Looks to be a two horse race between Silver Sabre and Rain In Newmarket. Going to row in with Silver Sabre being a two time winner and a year older. Think Silver Sabre will reverse the placings with Rain In Newmarket on the Quinta race.
Race (7)
If coming back to best, Via Salaria would be a confident choice. Good to see the Drier stable get off the mark in the Cape, hopefully onwards and upwards. Would like to think Noir’s Boy can bounce back to best, but the latest penalty for finishing 7th appears harsh. There are plenty with chances, these Divided Handicaps are an enigma to me.
Race (
If I admit to being lost in the 7th, my view remains unchanged here – field.

Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

In the 1990's the original Alter Ego that I know off, won what is now the Post Merchants beating Marie Galante and Blushing Star. Blushing Star won the Computaform Sprint. Marie Galante won the SA Fillies Sprint twice and was famously the favorite when beaten at Durbanville by Empress Club over 1000m setting a course record then.

Since you mentioned Jamaica. Jamaica ran unplaced in the SA Oaks and the horse that finished third that day was Limerick behind the winner Icy Air.
Limerick has a colt in the second race Van.Gogh. Limerick has produced Cape Guineas winner, Noah From Goa.

Limerick
Fortwood by Kenmare belle, bred in year 1999 by Wilgerbosdrift, wasn't a useful sprinter ran 11 races for 1 win and 4 places.

Hot sunny day, expect a brisk headwind this afternoon.
Race 1 Captain Dizzy was disappointing last time after a 5 month break, but that run should have brought him on and he is my first choice on his good runs behind some top horses. Wordsworth is well tried but has improved last two and should again be in the money. Superior Leader good last two and must be respected although bred for further. Some nicely bred first timers to be watched. selection 1/2/3/6
race 2. Captain Who has solid form and the likely winner, but price too skinny for me. Mr Frostie has been very poor last two after a top debut in KZN- a danger at any price if he bounces back. Firstamongequals, Hikaru, Bumrah and Picture the Moment all have shown some ability so places very wide open. Again some nicely bred first timers.
selection 3/1/6/2
Race 3 With Meliora scratched there is no obvious pacemaker, so this could well be a false run race. No selection
Race 4 Capitana should come home lonely. In a Huff the main danger. selection 5/6/7/1
race 5 Competitive handicap, and the result hinges on which of the recent maiden winners has made the most improvement. Apache Dream is very well in at the weights if she can regain her form, and if they let her get away she could steal it, so she's a a roughie to throw into exotics. selection 2/6/3/5
Race 6 The two obvious fillies are Rain in Newmarket and Silver Sabre, and little between them. Major Attraction fair sprint last time and as her breeder, I have been waiting for her to go the mile, and at the weights she can cause an upset. Springisintheair and Moroccan Flame will test the youngsters. selection 9/6/5/8
Race 7 Captain of Stealth is the class horse and the one to beat, but a very open race. Fast Love last race can be ignored as the stable had a pervasive respiratory virus at the time. If he does not need this too badly I think he's a big runner at the weights. selection 8/2/4/3
race 8 Another tricky handicap. selection 8/9/7/4
