SA Jockey academy bankrupt

One of the casualties of racings meltdown is unfortunately the academy. I have been told that the coffers are bare and there will be no future intakes unless the situation improves. I was also told that Luke Ferraris has been released before his time is officially up and will become a qualified jockey 1 January 2021.

Well, take notice of the many racing sponsorships, Junior football, stadium sponsorships, jockey and trainer sponsorships, and I’m sure much more. Perhaps racing is receiving more than if there was no open betting.

I think in SA it was about the only way...I have heard of very few who qualified without going through the Academy
