Please can I ask if any member has had a positive experience with an agency or company that can assist in obtaining a copy of a vault birth certificate. If so please could you provide me with their information.

What is stopping you from doing it yourself?

According to Google it has in some cases been known to take years Mac

Saw one company charging R1500 q-pro.co.za/vault-certificates/what-is-a...a-birth-certificate/

Would check these companies out before taking them on

Tell me about it.... I applied for an Unabridged birth certificate three months ago .... they confidently stated it would take two weeks.

Monty, you need to do it yourself, forget about the agency. It needs persistence like every week, get to know the people’s names, the manager’s name, queue, more queuing, resistance to rejection, blah, blah. You need to persistently badger on but keep your manners. That’s my experience when I had to get my birth country changed on my ID.
I hope you have an office near you.

I did this, a while back at Home Affairs, in Randburg. Get the necessary form off the Internet. Admittedly queing is a pain, but once you get to the desk & pay, it takes about 8 weeks to process, then they let you know, and you go collect.
Don't try shortcuts. No good,
Hope this helps.

Ok rather than try and phone Home Affairs....

Sue and myself went to HA, probably 4 years ago to apply for a smart ID card.
After about 4 hrs wait we were told that they are doing people that were born in SA first then only when they are complete, we could apply, probably 1year?

We were informed that you can do on line and it’s now easy stuff.
Today we completed everything on line to be informed “this facility only applicable to people born in SA”

Would appreciate the easiest way to obtain as pensioners?

@ Scotia

I remember reading that the banks are rolling out Smart Card ID
Do a Google search...........
My Broadband Smart ID Card
Will give you the Banks and branches in your area, like Centurion or Pretoria.

I don't know if Covid has affected the process. Best to enquire at the banks.
