I'm going to paint a patch of wall near the kettle so I can spend the time watching paint dry and the kettle boil at the same time !!

David Thiseltons` selections for today
RACE 1: Preview: BIG CITY GIRL (10) has shown good pace in her last two starts including on Saturday over 1160m and she should relish the step down to the minimum trip. THEATRE OF DREAMS (2) has been knocking on the door and top work-rider Sam Mosia rides from a nice high draw. SHOWDOWN KID (1) won her penultimate start but was disqualified and Vusunzi Sithetho gets an opportunity to make amends for weighing in under weight that day. TALLADEGA (6) has not run for 21 months but his two outings at Kenilworth including in a Listed event represent fair form in the context of this race. ASHANTI (3) has shown enough to earn here. (David Thiselton 10-2-1-6-3)
RACE 2: Preview: SONNY QUIN (15) has put up two good efforts to date over this trip and looks the one to beat. ALACRITAS (9) was backed on debut at Hollywoodbets Greyville over this trip when running a 2,50 length fifth to the smart Copper Mountain and he returns from a suspension after bleeding second time out. MARS ROVER (3) can be involved if repeating his last start over this trip. (David Thiselton 15-9-3-4-5)
RACE 3: Preview: QUEEN ANNE’S LACE (13) improved over 1160m second time out and is the one to beat. SUMIDA (15) has run two fair races and was backed on debut. DUNYAA (9) is by champion 3yo colt in Australia Brazen Beau out of a one-time winning Pivotal mare who is half-sister to a Group 3 runner up. DESERT PRIDE (
is by Pomodoro and is a half-sister to Group 2 Golden Slipper winner Desert Rhythm. FLOWER OF SCOTLAND (1) has gone close in her last two over 1000m and should manage the step up to 1200m having finished close over 1450m before. DIFFERENTIATE (2) has not raced for ten months but should enjoy this trip running fresh and is a contender. (David Thiselton 13-15-9-8-1-
RACE 4: Preview: THE BASTILLE (10) stayed on over 1000m last time and looks the one to beat over this step up in trip. FORWARD MARCH (14) is knocking on the door and should be thereabouts. RAISETHEREDLANTERN (9) is by Willow Magic out of a one-time winning half-sister to Listed winner Comet Chaser. (David Thiselton 10-14-9)
RACE 5: Preview: TIGHT FIVE (15), who is by Pomodoro out of Grade 1 Golden Slipper winner For The Lads, has a potentially tough draw one but looks the one to beat after a good debut over 1200m when green. SO THEY SAY (16) went close over this course and distance last time out with a first-time tongue tie on. AL HAAMY (5) has quite a low draw too but ran well over 1450m in his penultimate start so should be a contender. FORT COMMADER (9) also has a low draw but after a good second start over 1000m he should be right there over a 1400m trip he should enjoy being by Toreador out of a Johannesburg mare who won over 2000m. SIGNALS (14) disappointed last time but can do better. MILITARY QUEST (7) has shown signs of ability. (David Thiselton 15-16-5-9-14-7)
RACE 6: Preview: PIN IT (9) looks likely to relish the step up in trip and has a plum draw. ON BROADWAY (2) can be a contender if reproducing her best but she does have a tough draw. SUGARLICIOUS (10) is by Flying The Flag out of a Mogok mare who won on debut over 1000m as a juvenile but who subsequently never placed. (David Thiselton 9-2-10)
RACE 7: Preview: IMMACULATE (11) made a fair debut over 1600m despite coughing and the form has worked out well so being by Ideal World and a full-sister to Cape Speed, a Grade 3 winner whose five wins are from 1800m to 2400m, she looks the one to beat over this step up in trip. EUPHORIANT (1) is knocking on the door over this trip and has a plum draw. WONDEROUS (6) can improve being a full sister to Wildlife Safari, who has won four times from 1200m to 2000m, and she has a fair draw. (David Thiselton 11-1-6)
RACE 8: Preview: LEADING LAD (1) went close over 1600m last time and is drawn well over a trip he should relish being by Trippi and a half-brother to Lizarre, who finished third in the Grade 1 Daily News 2000 before winning in Singapore from 1700m up to 2200m. WILD HERITAGE (2) could contest this in step up in trip he will relish being a full brother to Innate Quality, whose four wins included two wins over 2400m. CITY DEEP (5) ran on from way back last time for second in a muddling race and could earn again with similar tactics from a good draw. (David Thiselton 1-2-5)

Going may be on the soft side, but hopefully not too much of a factor; I have taken a double with the Magner pair Qunetra and Flower of Scotland - and I also fancy Al Haamy - really should take a lot of beating on that run behind Nourbese.

i.e. R3 #1

Also in R3 is #9, Dunyaa, an imported MdK first timer. Very brave to nominate on work riders’ day.
