I agree - not sure what happened last time - probably choked up - gets a tongue-tie today and on last year's form surely too good for these

That is a huge problem with our racing.
Cockney Pride was 24 merit rating points better off with the winner Kayla's Champ which should equate to around 12 lengths.
CP MR 110
KC MR 86
Yet she gets beaten by 10 lengths therefore running around 44 merit rating points below her merit rating.
Ain't this an example of trying to get her merit rating down?
Or this horse was brought to the races in very poor fitness levels.

The problem is you reach a rating and then the handicapper does not drop you after a poor couple of runs to prevent manipulation and to facilitate valid excuses - Maybe in future the handicapper when rating should show the actual rating achieved in a race even if they are not adjusting the horse up or down.So if you are a 100 and you run to an 80 they publish that rating bracketed behind the official rating - Cockney 110(80)
This girl has had two dismal runs prior to this so I don't think they were trying to drop ratings - from the way she ran there I wonder if she is not a bleeder as she stopped dead under pressure - I think personally she is perhaps shot

Cockney Pride at the moment is regarded as an ineligible for the Heritage Handicap as her rating is too high. Only horses with a rating of 108 and below are allowed to run.
