RELEASED BY: Phumelela

The runners in contention for places in the R900,000 Emperors Palace Ready To Run Cup (Presented by Bloodstock South Africa) over 1400m at Turffontein on Saturday 31 October, have held their ground and this week sees no change at the top.

Unbeaten five-time winners Anything Goes still holds the No 1 spot on the log with War Of Athena just behind her.

Somasonic from the Sean Tarry yard remains in sixth spot but his merit rating went up from 90 to 91 following his 0.75-length second to Crank It Up at Turffontein on Saturday.

The Non-Black Type race is run over 1400m and is open to eligible graduates of the 2019 Bloodstock South Africa Emperor’s Palace Summer Ready To Run Sale.

Entries for the race close at 11am on Monday 19 October with a supplementary entry opportunity that closes at 9am on Monday 26 October.

Declarations close at 11am on Tuesday 27 October.

The field will be limited to 16 runners plus two reserves.

The final field will be determined by a panel appointed by the racing operator.

The race forms part of the Grade 2 Peermont Emperors Palace Charity Mile race meeting and incudes three Grade 3 races. They are The Graham Beck Stakes for three-year-olds, the HSH Princess Charlene Starling Stakes for three-year-old fillies – both over 1400m – and the Yellowwood Handicap over 1800m for fillies and mares.

Does anyone know if there will be a 'Ready to Run' Sale held this year - no mention of one on BSA's website ?

....was going to ask similar....but it seems like it may only happen next year if ever.....also maybe they are letting CTS have it as 2 RTR sales may not be feasible in the current racing climate......remember that the up coming 2 yr old BSA sale has been delayed and may at last have better value as a short stay at a breaking in preconditioning and pre training facility will have a ready to run by the end of April 2021.....

I may be dof - I can't find any incentives for the BSA sale - but the CTS Ready to Run Sales Race is 'envisaged' to have a value 'in excess of R1 Million' .... so I know where I'll be looking to spend my 10 grand .... B)
