The state of play in our racing

There have been so many twists and turns in the collapse of Phumelela that it is often very difficult to understand what exactly is happening. I still do not understand how MOD achieved a yes vote from their creditors when the offer on the table seemed to be less than the Betfred offer? This whole story has led me to a few obvious conclusions:

1. The powers that be in SA racing do not have the sport of racing at heart.
2. Owners have no real say in racings matters and the RA has gone from a Jooste pawn to an Oppenheimer pawn.
3. There seems to be little to no meaningful communication coming from the MOD team and to me the change has been a mere swapping of the deck chairs. A perfect example of this is the appointment of Bradley Ralph as the Kenilworth Racing CEO. This happened weeks ago and no official announcement has been made.
4. Rian du Plessis is an evil mother and there can be no doubt that Markus Jooste is still a player in SA racing.
5. The NHA is powerless and in my opinion a huge albatross around racings neck.
6. There is no appetite to expose the sins of the past.

I do not share the euphora shown in some quarters around the MOD coronation as Phumelela successors.

What!

1 Mega-rich ruthless business family offer under the going rate.

2 Capture the media

3 Capture the RA

4 Capture the Business Rescue team

5 Creditors roll over

6 Exit >
