July Day horse abuse caught on National TV.
4 years 10 months ago - 4 years 10 months ago
Major owner Suzette Viljoen' Big Hello is seen on National TV being hit with a batton or other device (possibly the dudes fists.) EDITED i see Louis commented om SP. a short cord or such was used.
Needless to say the horse ran dead last in the race.
Such amazing optics for the broader community.
just imagine what goes on behind closed stable doors with this dipshit.
and the NHRA/Stipes what do they have to say, i hear u ask ? the horse will be suspended if her behavior does not improve. i kid u not. thats what these Vee Moodley accolytes had to say. i kid u the fu%^%^%ck not.
GC they have said Zero, zilch, zip, nil, nought, nothing
no doubt the NSPCA will get wind of this and the broader media.
Owner if an animal lover cant be super imprssed.
Not great all round

.....apparently that guy is a farrier.....and I have witnessed others like him slap a horse in the gut with a hammer handle or fist.....because they wont stand still while being shod.....also seen jocks kick horses in the same manner
......this practice needs to be stamped out.....hope they set an example with that DOOS.....

Just another example of why the worst farriers in the world can be found right here in South Africa.

I saw the incident on the race day itself. It looked bad to me, but neither the presenter nor anyone on here made any mention of it, so I just assumed it was generally accepted by the trainers.
It was a quick cut to a shot of this horse standing still on track, and the man taking a couple swipes to the back of the horse's two front legs with what appeared to be a cord or whip, with the horse jinking forward uncomfortably with each swipe. I've certainly never seen that technique used before to get a stubborn horse to move.

I'm sure a few people can name this person.Let's see if anyone is brave enough to put this clowns name up.
These type of people is exactly what gives horse racing a bad name and are not needed in this sport.
Don't just sweep it under the carpet.

Thanks Sly, what a f...ing disgrace to horse racing! If that was my horse if NHRA didn't investigate, I certainly would be going higher up the chain.
Surely if that is acceptable and no action is taken Vee Moodley then the whip regulations might as well be done away with?
