TRACK INFORMATION




Race Track: Turf. 2300m oval circuit. Races up to 1200m straight course; beyond 1200m clockwise round turn with 550m run-in. There are inside and outside tracks in races beyond 1200m with a common back straight and turns. The outside track joins the 1200m straight course at the 550m mark, while the inside track has its own run-in.

Best Draws: Low-number draws favoured 1600m.

Why Bayern? I was looking at this race and could not believe Nexus price .... I see very little to suggest that it will win.

I will start from the bottom up :-

12) Sovereign Spirit - Under sufferance with Nexus.

11) Roy's Riviera - mare taking on the boys - seen better days.

10) Capoeira - Domeyer would have taken the ride, jockeys are her to win, not make up the numbers. Has ridden this horse previously.

9) Pack Leader, hasn't won in 981 days, don't think it will happen tomorrow.

Tilbury Fort, has been punished for the Summer Cup win. Merit rating increase, not because he won a race, clearly not at that current rating.

7) G G'S Dynasty, must admit, thought Marcus would have taken the ride if it had a winning chance, no disrespect to Zackey. Who's riding Run Fox Run, this would be a good gamble should it arrive - somehow don't think that will happen, unless Marcus got the neighbour to go and take the bet.

6) Magnificent Seven, maybe going for the run and further, but i don't see Steve McQueen (Richard Fourie) taking the ride.

5) Cat Daddy, again no disrespect to the jockey, Kennedy, would have thought Marcus would have had the pick.

4) More Magic, shock winner.

3) Nexus, the winner, for the reasons above and below.

2) Herodotus, not at the weight turn-around.

1) Born To Perform, looks to be the biggest danger on paper, but the regular jockeys have gone elsewhere. My advise, wait until race time, you could get double the current odds, despite being not a coup - maybe the stable have bankered this one in their P6 to deflect un-noticed attention.

Having said all of the above, what's your fancy to win the race - pray tell.
