Keep On Squeezing, NHA
5 years 6 days ago - 5 years 6 days ago
This morning I received my colour renewal notice from the NHA. It is June 2nd and the notice tersely advises me that, starting June 15th (a mere 13 days from now), it will levy an additional R150 ( the first of a number of penalties) until I pay. Or don't; in which case my privilege lapses.
The first issue regarding this notice that I found interesting was that it originated from a Gold Circle address. Ah! Does this mean that Gold Circle has taken over the running of the NHA? Just wondering.
I could not help but look up when my 2019 colour renewal notice was sent to me . On April 26th 2019 to be precise; allowing me a reasonable time to make payment. This year - not so much. As much as I am sure that the NHA would mutter into its beard about 'interruptions caused by lockdown' it does seem to me that the selfsame lockdown should have presented a perfect opportunity to send out renewal notices without pesky interruptions. Apparently not.
I find it interesting that the NHA does not deem it necessary to reduce its fee in line with what other agencies have done. It seems to escape their attention that I have paid for a privilege in 2019/2020 which I have been unable to exercise for a large portion of the year.
So we stagger on whilst squeezing every available drop out of any individual still breathing. When the dust actually settles the number of renewed colours should make for chilling reading.

agree with u Garrick, not much time to pay.
What they could have done was offer a 10 or 20 % DISCOUNT if paid by 15 June......but instead they tell u how u will be penalised if u pay late
Will be interesting to see how many colours / syndicates are NOT renewed.
