And then again, a little bit of knowlege could be dangerous.
Maybe I must find out a bit more.... just maybe, the info received is a bit skewed.
I will post when I find out, that's for sure.

Louisg, do you think for one moment Phumelela's two village idiots wanted racing to continue? There is NO money to pay stakes so how stupid are they for their actions ?
This olive branch that the RA are dangling infront of owners is to curry some sort of favour to keep owners interested in the game so as to pay their keep for another month while they try and find a "magical wand" to save the day or to use the last reserves to pay their salaries. It can also be misconstrued as help for the trainers who haven't been paid by their owners or who have done deals with them and now cant afford to buy feed. What is the point of being a RA member?
Lastly, you said it, how can anyone be happy as an owner in this f..up shambles? Louisg that has nothing to do with being an ABC Forumite has it ?

I see reason from Brian Riley on SP
“Gold Circle did something similar for their owners. This was because our income is generated mainly from the nominations and declarations from races operated by Phumelela as well as a small amount from membership fees. We receive nothing from the membership fees or nominations and declarations in KZN, as that goes directly to Gold Circle. Therefore as with the stakes support our grant has been directed at the same owners.”

Of course this is positive - notwithstanding any ulterior motive - but if I were a member, I would not be thrilled that after loyally paying my subs (it seems only to get a decent 'discounted' meal and a closer parking spot - really ?) for years, the okes (like me) who have not paid in years also gets the subsidy .... might as well then consider the KZN blokes as well ....
And then that tired old point of pseudonyms - I still maintain that the value of a contribution should not be judged by whether a poster prefers to use a pseudonym - rather a contribution should be judged on merit - and as a keyboard yapper, I would suggest that petty name calling is not called for, whether one chooses to use a pseudonym or not ...
Regarding the application to race, I too would like to here more .... but on the face of it, seems 'racing' has managed to shoot itself in the foot - again .....

No skin off my teeth whether I use my name or my brand, because in the grand scheme of all that has happened in local racing as It counts for nothing anyway. There is no way that the RA can right this ship unless they have the right people to take charge and move away from Phumelela because when that ship goes down it will take the RA to a watery grave with them.

They need a proper team with experts in all sectors that apply to racing to be effective, which is not hard to do really. As for the past and Phumelela I have no comment.
