Michael Leaf has resigned as a Director and Chairman of the Board of the Racing Association as at 6 April 2020.

He served as a Trustee on the Thoroughbred Horseracing Trust and as a Director and Chairman on the Board of the Racing Association.

He has served the industry with dedication since 2007 and his official term on the RA Board was due to conclude as at the end of July 2020. He therefore felt this was an opportune time for the current Board to consider new appointees.

It has been decided by the Board that Brian Riley will act as interim Chairman until a suitable replacement is found.

The board would like to thank Mr Leaf for his incredible dedication to the industry and the passionate role he played throughout his term of office.

The RA is also following a process to appoint a new CEO. A short list has been drawn up but in light of the current lockdown we have decided to put the process on hold until such time as we have more certainty on the return of horse racing. – Racing Association

I noticed during the 6 months he has gotten out of nearly all his horses.
