Scoop6 big payout in UK

THEY staked big but won even bigger. TheScoop6 perm placed by an anonymous syndicate cost its members just short of £10,000, but the massive wager was handsomely rewarded when the Blue Square punters collected more than £1 million on a Scoop6 super Saturday.
In netting £1,030,837, the BlueSquare gamblers landed the third largest win fund rollover in the Tote bet's history. Richard Brocklebank, who emptied just over £1.5 million from the win fund last October, remains the Scoop6's biggest victor.
Five tickets remained alive going into the last leg of the bet, and three of the five horses racing for those tickets filled the first three places in a thrilling finish to the concluding Great St Wilfrid Stakes, in which Tajneed triumphed for the Blue Square players.
"We are delighted that the Scoop6 millionaire bet was put on with us," said Blue Square spokesman George Primarolo.
"Whenever the rollovers have got big, we have been offering a ten per cent cashback offer on losing bets, and that has proved popular with the syndicates. We have been taking plenty of bets through Tote Direct, and long may that continue."
Totepool's Paul Petrie revealed that the winners had "staked just short of five figures". Their haul could increase still further next Saturday when they get the chance to have a crack at the bonus fund and its £419,485 kitty.
The place dividend paid £650.70 and was won 195 times.
The Scoop6's top five win fund winners:
£1,519,304 - Richard Brocklebank
£1,132,657 - Stuart Bolland
£1,030,837 - Blue Square syndicate
£878,939 - Ron Nicholson
£711,831 - Anonymous syndicate
