"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon' Session Wednesday 13 August Workings.

Afternoon.

This afternoon completed and went as follows:

The 1st runner we wanted 3.0 and with being around 2.9 on arrival, we had a lay at around 2.9. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.3 and beyond, before tumbling back down again, so a fluctuating market and a chance for builders and traders to have a 'free' lay. The lay/trade

The 2nd runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.44 and shortening on arrival, we had a lay at 2.44 max. The lay came in 2nd after a battling, close finish, so a good result.........

The 3rd runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 4.4 on arrival and then dropping down to us and beyond, we had a lay at 3.5 max. The lay went and won a battling finish, so the late money spot on, and the way it goes.......

The 4th runner we wanted 3.1, and with drifting to around 4.0 on arrival and only getting bigger, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beats race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though........

The 5th runner we wanted 3.5, and with being a well supported 2.92 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.92. The lay went and won, so the money correct and the way it goes. Traders did get their trade back prices in running, so got away with it......

The 6th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 13% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.15. The price had drifted to around 2.8 on arrival and only got bigger, so with never seeing our lay price. we all had to avoid the race. The runner went and won, so a nice priced winner, but more importantly a good leave.........

The 7th runner we wanted 2.32, but a non runner and 12.5% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.16. The price was a well supported 1.7, and shortening on arrival, so we had a lay at 1.7 max. The lay was beaten and so a good result........

The 8th runner we wanted 2.6, and with being around 3.35 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'.........

The 9th runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.34 on arrival and then tumbling down to us and beyond (went odds on) under good support, we had a lay at 2.2 max. The lay went and won, so the late money was spot on and the way it goes.........

The 10th runner we wanted 2.7, but a non runner and 5.6% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.6. The price was around 3.1 on arrival and never came down to us at any stage, so a race to avoid for all. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'...........

The 11th and final runner we wanted 2.7, but a non runner and 8.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.55. The price was around 2.48 on arrival and so we had a lay at around 2.48. The price then drifted out to our own price of 2.85 (was 3.0 before reductions) and so a chance for traders to have a 'free' lay before the race. The lay/trade was beaten and so a good result.........

WELL PLAYED/BATTLED......................(3 from the first 6 (50%) went and won - 4 from the first 9 (44.44%) went and won - so tricky and testing as expected, but we did well enough)

'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) won 1 target..........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 1st runner, then hit their targets on their 2nd lay (the 2nd runner).........They then started their 2nd strategy/target on the 3rd runner, and after a poor start and a battle, they ended up going to their 4th and final lay (the 11th runner) to recoup a small amount, and they did. So they end the session winning one target.

'Bank building' strategy/target players started with a 'free' lay (the 1st runner) that bought a tiny profit.........They then had their 1st lay (the 2nd runner) at 2.44, and a good result see them win a chunk of their targets.........Then came their 2nd lay (the 3rd runner) at 3.5 max, but a poor result see 4 runner builders give it little back, and 5 runner builders go a shade behind.........Then came their 3rd lay (the 5th runner) at 2.92, but a poor result see them go further behind.......They then had their 4th lay (the 7th runner) at 1.7 max, and a good result see builders finish levels....

Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £10

Total bank now £410

1st lay £102.50 to win as much of the £90 needed @ 2.44 max. Result positive. Win £71

Total bank now £481

2nd lay £160 to win the remaining £19 @ 3.5 max. Result negative. Lose £48

Total bank now £433

3rd lay £216 to win the remaining £67 @ 2.92. Result negative. Lose £129

Total bank now £304

4th lay £304 to recoup the £96 @ 1.7 max. Result positive. Win £96

Total bank now £400

Overall result. Level.

***************************************

Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100

'Free' lay bought average/minimum profit £8

Total bank now £408

1st lay £81.60 to win as much of the £92 needed @ 2.44 max. Result positive. Win £57

Total bank now £465

2nd lay £116 to win the remaining £35 @ 3.5 max. Result negative. Lose £88

Total bank now £377

3rd lay £125 to recoup the £23 @ 2.92. Result negative. Lose £44

Total bank now £333

4th lay £166 to recoup the £67 @ 1.7 max. Result positive. Win £67

Total bank now £400

So with just one potential lay left and being levels, there's no room at all for any error, so always advised to stop here.

Overall result. Level.

'Traders' had to concede a little on the 3rd runner at 3.5 max, and the 9th runner at 2.2 max, but all others see them win a bit, or break level, so they end around levels and they'll accept that and move on to this evening..

So builders get off to a decent start, but then came a battle which see them end the session level. Rollers had a battle, but did battle well, so well played guys. Speak soon.

Nice to see plenty to work with, and although it's looking tricky and testing, we do have enough to warrant taking our satchels in and having a play. Discipline to the maximum and take advantage of any prices that come our way. Good luck and speak soon with this evening's workings.
