RACE 1 :

• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 1, 2 and 7 - AIR MUSEUM, FEEL THE THUNDER &
SUGAR GUM : Air Museum is expected to need the experience. Feel the
Thunder and Sugar Gum can be there if not being caught out by being
green.
• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 4 and 6 - TIGER IN THE SUN & CIANNA : They
can get involved if not too green.
JUAN NEL - Number 3 - HOMER FIDGET : He has shown fair work but
probably will want further and this is a starting point for him.
RACE 2 :
1st four selection

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 6 and 7 - ASCENDING HEIGHTS & CALANDRA :
Ascending Heights has a winning chance. Calandra is not out of it but
she got left badly in her last and must jump.
• GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 9 and 13 - GOOD TIMES ROLL & GERMINATION :
Good Times Roll has done nothing wrong and should be thereabouts.
Hoping for improvement from Germination.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 10 and 12 - QUERENCIA & COSMIC LOVE :
Querencia ran a much improved last with the blinkers and tongue tie
fitted and we are hoping she follows up, if she does she has a chance
here. Cosmic Love ran a respectable debut for the yard in her last and
further improvement is expected.
TARA LAING - Number 11 - PRECIOUS JEWEL : She tries the blinkers
here but would probably be better over further.
JUAN NEL - Number 15 - TERRA CREEK GIRL : The extra here will suit
as well as being on grass and she will run an improved race.
DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Number 1 - QUEEN MAKEDA : She has improved off her
local debut and can run into the money.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 2 and 5 - BILLI ANN & RED FOREST : Billi
Ann tries a bit further for the first time in PE and we are hoping she
enjoys it, she does have a deep draw to overcome. Hoping for
improvement from Red Forest.
MONTANA TURNER - Number 8 - WORLD SQUARED : This will be short for
her but she enjoys the grass and I am hoping she runs well.
RACE 3 :

• JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 2 - KING CAPONE : He is knocking hard and
has a winning chance.
• ALAN GREEFF - Number 9 - IN THE SKY : She is knocking on the door.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3 and 6 - HALLELUJAH & MASTEROFTHEPARTY :
The trip is a bit of a question mark for Hallelujah, ideally the mile
would have been first choice, but there wasn’t one available so he
goes straight into the 2000m here. He is a bit one paced at work and
has a lovely action so he could actually enjoy it. Masteroftheparty
races off a break but if he doesn’t just need it he can run a nice
race.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 4 and 8 - GIVEMETHETHUMBSUP & FREEDOM TRAIL :
Givemethethumbsup is working well and has a chance. Freedom Trail may
still need this but could run into quartets.
RACE 4 :
1st four selections

• JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 2 - FRIKKIE : He will enjoy being down in
class and is expected to run well.
• ALAN GREEFF - Number 7 - ROCK ALOE : He is up in class, but he is
a classy type and has a winning chance.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 1 - STORY OF MY LIFE : He is always thereabouts
but has a big weight to carry.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3, 4 and 8 - DESERT CHIEF, QUERARI VIKING &
CRUISE CRUZ : Desert Chief is working well and has a chance at the
win. Querari Viking has needed both of his runs leading into this and
improvement is expected. Cruise Cruz is up in class and out at the
weights, but he is well suited to the grass and longer run in and is
in solid form.
TARA LAING - Number 5 - ARANJUEZ : He has been disappointing of late
but in a moderate field he has a chance.
RACE 5 :

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2 and 4 - WOODSTOCK FAIRY, SILVERY
HEIGHTS & FOOLS GARDEN : Woodstock Fairy is down in class and has a
winning chance. Silvery Heights won well in her last and can place.
Fools Garden is up in class but in very good form and it she can get
involved.
• SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 3, 8 and 10 - ANGEL OF ATHENS, WYLIE’S
FLAME & EASYBYFAR : We have been waiting for a grass 2000m for Angel
of Athens and she run a nice race. Wylie’s Flame is improving all the
time, she is on the up and a good run is also expected from her.
Easybyfar must still prove herself over 2000m on grass, she just faded
out over it in her last.
TARA LAING - Number 6 - RED HERRING : She didn’t enjoy the Poly in
her last and better is expected.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 7 and 9 - EXCLUSIVITY & ALASKAN FATE :
Exclusivity will enjoy track and trip and should be right there.
Alaskan Fate was caught too far in her last and improvement is
expected.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Numbers 11, 12 and 13 - BOLDNESS, SETTLEMENT DAY &
HOPEFUL : Boldness won a good race last time out and we are hoping for
another good effort. Settlement Day and Hopeful need to improve.
RACE 6 :
1st four selections

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1 and 2 - AMERICAN LANDING & PHILOS : This
could be sharp for American Landing but he is down in class and can
run well. Philos won well on local debut and can place.
• SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 7, 8 and 10 - PEARL TIARA, HOME RULER &
STRAWBERRY WINE : Pearl Tiara is distance suited and she has a good
draw. American Landing does look hard to beat here, but she should be
thereabouts. Home Ruler definitely enjoys the mile, her last wasn’t
her best effort but if she takes well to the grass, which locally she
races on for the first time, better is expected. Strawberry Wine ran a
cracker in her last, she does have a wide draw, but if she follows up
she should have a chance.
TARA LAING - Number 9 - VALDERRAMA : Filly taking on the boys so it
will be tough and the Greeff runner does look hard to beat.
GAVIN SMITH - Number 3 - BRIGADOON ELY : This is a touch short for
him, but he has been wanting the longer home straight.
RACE 7 :
1st four selections

• ALAN GREEFF - Numbers 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and 10 - OUTLANDO’S
D’AMOUR, VIVIR, VIA SACRA, DAME COMMANDER, WITCH OF THE WEST, RACINE &
STOPTHINKINGOFME : Outlando’s d’Amour is holding form, she has met
stronger and has a winning chance. Vivir seems to have just gone off
the boil and I am hoping for improvement. Via Sacra is consistent and
loves the trip. Dame Commander could place. Witch of the West has her
first run for the yard and could need it. Racine is in good form and
has a winning chance. Stopthinkingofme is up in class, but she is in
steady form.
•DUNCAN MCKENZIE - Numbers 5 and 12 - HORSE HAIZI & STRAWBERRY GIRL
: Horse Haizi bumps a strong field but she always tries and will be
competitive. Strawberry Girl has a tough task in a hard race but she
loves the 1000m trip.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 6 - ONESIE : This will be way too short for
her, but it is a race to bring her on.
TARA LAING - Number 4 - CAPTAIN ANNE BONNY : She will find this sharp.
RACE 8 :
1st four selections

• GRANT PADDOCK - Number 1 - LORD MARSHAL : He is fit and well,
loves course and distance, ran a good race in his last and has a
decent each way shout.
• ALAN GREEFF - Number 7 - MISS JACKSONVILLE : She is
temperamentally unsound but has ability and could enjoy the longer
homestraight of the turf.
JACQUES STRYDOM - Number 12 - MASTER DESIGN : Hoping for improvement.
TARA LAING - Number 3 - PARA HANDY : He didn’t enjoy the Poly in his
last and better is expected.
SHARON KOTZEN - Numbers 4 and 9 - RECONNAISSANCE & CHERRY POP :
Reconnaissance is definitely better than his last and improvement is
expected. Cherry Pop takes on the boys but she races off a good run
and she is honest.
GAVIN SMITH - Numbers 5 and 8 - MASTERFUL & BORN A BULLY : Masterful
is effective over track and trip and has a quartet chance. Born a
Bully is working well and has a quartet chance.
