Kotzen was fairly confident Alpha Pappa would run a huge race, good value at the current odds of 13/2
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Difficult seeing Aqua Bolt keeping that race.

that is a disgusting outcome - if we allow horses to impede the whole field but still earn stakes where is the fairness? That jockey and horse should be punished for their actions - not still be allowed to earn stakes!!! Financially it made no difference to me for my PA but as a purist I think this is bad for racing as last time I checked it was not regarded as a contact sport!!!

In all honesty, that race should have went the way of Brave Tiger. Had none of that nonsense taken place, he wins this by a Length going away.

And nope, not talking from my pocket...

69.3.2any HORSE in the RACE was interfered with by any other HORSE and/or its RIDER and as a result of which the chances of the HORSE interfered with were jeopardized, the OBJECTION BOARD may, if it believes that the nature of the interference warrants such action, disqualify the HORSE which caused the interference.

Does this rule still exist?

I think that race should actually be used as a teaching tool for young stipes - When to DISQUALIFY a horse!!!

Stan Elly explained that a horse, maybe Jephthah, actually hit Aqua Bolt on it's hind quarters and the stipes thought that action started everything so that's why it wasn't disqualified.
