Looking at mounts and skills, consider the home town advantage but have to favour the INTERNATIONAL TEAM.

Good Punting

Just having a look at the rules governing the use of South African colours in sport. There are clear breaches of rule a) and b) and probable breaches of c). Rule d) amounts to a racing 72.1.26 so is in the eye of the beholder.

10(1) A person may not:

(a) without the necessary authority, use the national colours or any colours confusingly or deceptively similar thereto in the course of trade or otherwise;
(b) project himself or herself as representing South Africa in a sporting authority without written consent from the SASC;
(c) unlawfully and without the authority of the Board misrepresent that he or she is entitled to wear national colours;
(d) commit any act or causes the commission thereof, which brings the national colours into disrepute.

My question is why is it so important to race in national colours that are not official nor recognised when international fun competitions such as this in other jurisdictions allow the owners colours to be used? Why not race in cap colours - green for SA and yellow for international?

A final question - why does the NHA condone this?

Not taking sides here - but don't they have the 'necessary authority' and 'written consent' ?

From a practical point of view I do find the colors utterly confusing when trying to identify my fancies - so imo the idea of sporting the owner's colors with an identifying cap is a good idea.

Getting into the spirit of things, I think both Murray and Khumalo are big value at current odds :unsure:

RACE 2

NO.6 MERCY MISSION (E/W)

Drifting from 25/1 now 50/1

Trainers only runner (many trainers with only 1 chance today...watch out for them)

Mercy mission...Clearly the best bred in the race

Numerous Elusive fort progeny has won over the sprints
Dam sire Redoute's Choice has sired many Group1 winning sprinters

Also Mercy M is the only gelding in the field...which means he will be the most well behaved
