JJ suspended

The National Horseracing Authority confirms that it has suspended all entries and declarations from Trainer L. J. Erasmus (Jnr), pending the finalisation of an Inquiry.

The Inquiry is in relation to an inspection by NHA Officials, that took place at his private training premises and horses under his care, on Wednesday, 28 August 2019.

So the mind can just imagine what was found there - a cattle prodder wasn't enough to evoke the same reaction on a previous incident.

I hope that the horses are ok

Dont know the background or the owners, feel sorry for them.
Have your horse ready to run then withdrawn.
Gather they have to find urgent new stables .
Sure this is not the only case.
NHRA has to be consistent.

I also heard it was because horses were not fed etc but then read on SP it was because owners that were not registered were paying training fees so not sure and dont want to make the wrong comment .

horses neglected and starving - reason I was given- if true then no excuse -ban for life- if a springbok player can be banned for 4 years for willingly taking roids then any trainer neglecting or pain masking or hormone enhancing should be banned for LIFE as a horse does not want to be doped or forced to race through pain - I dont think my source would lie and the actions of the NHRA confirm this on a cursory view - I just wish they would be consistent - A healthy looking horse pumped with roids is no better off physically than a horse that is undernourished and in pain -Apperances mask the damage - A roid or enhanced animal will suffer later in its career (i know of roid filled animals that devolop calcified testicles- one poor guy is the subject of a very steep fine from the NHRA a few years ago - I wonder if these trainers and owners would allow their average son"s or daughters to be doped with hormones or "smart drugs(Ritalin etc)" or put them on oxy to kill the pain or enhance their capabilities. ban them for min 4 years instead of playing political games or get some REAL legislative experts to rewrite the NHRA rules to prevent appeals from the guilty- common knowledge I no longer contribute to ABC but with all the disgusting things going on in Racing I cannot remain silent

Me to.Mr H always spoke sense. And used to select a few nice price horses on the day for inclusions that I used to look out for as the strike rate was excellent.
