Montreal Mist broke out the Maiden ranks against open company and in some style. Back against juveniles, I make her the one they all have to beat.

Binary Star also competed in open company when making his debut and was far from disgraced. Appears to have raced green, however there was some betting support (14/1 into 7/1). With natural improvement, I make him the one they all have to beat.

My fancies on the day :-

R4) Quinlan - a repeat of his last effort, should see him win this.

R5) Strathdon - massive runner in my opinion.

R6) Front And Centre - will strip a lot fitter, and a lot more comfortable having had the run at Greyville. Marcus didn't punish this horse last time when he knew he couldn't win the race. No doubt in my mind, where ever Santa Clara runs, F&C will finish ahead of her. Don't think a slow pace will harm F&C's chances if set by Return Flight, because F&C does quicken well.

R7) The reason i am going to the course is to see the machine in the flesh.

R8) Protea Paradise - never mind the draw, down in class and should put this field away. Quick double for De Kock/Lerena.

Leave the course after the 8th to rush home and watch the Derby and get ready for the Champions League Cup final. Support neither club however I think Spurs will prevail.

Unfortunately I will not get to see the champ in action tomorrow.
