R2, Throng looks to be bumping the right company and should be the one they all have to beat.
R3, Makara with the 3kg pull at the weights could give plenty of cheek.

I have been told the 1st timer in Race 1 has had an excellent prep for a big run. If not green will win. Royal Honour some value at 20-1. Brittania Queen places at 10-1. Desert Kitten win. Fife win

Not the kind of card that appeals to me - hard to make some money with a lot of short-priced runners lining up - payouts bound to be on the small side

R2 Throng deserved favorite but seems to always find one better on the day, maybe his rating needs to come down a bit or just needs to fall over the line one day to gain confidence and we may see a better horse. For this reason I will take Throng on with Come the day who has been dropped a couple of points and after narrowly missing out on Norland in the week, Stryker to get one over the line for the same combination. On a line through the dazzler he warrants respect.
R3 Mawsool nothing wrong with her first run and although winning in a good time, I think she will need to have improved more to justify that price. Makara (Gavin from a one draw, need I say more?) Makara has bumped some very decent horses. Behind Mill Queen lto who in turn ran two lengths to Basadi Faith who in turn beat Gin Fizz (albeit when possibly not at her best) Place either of the above mentioned in this race and what price. Therefore I'll row in with Makara.
R4 Terry's comments re Urban Oasis a bit of a concern. (Bred for 2000+ wide draw, second run after a rest) All factors I am considering in looking elsewhere for value. By all means she can win but I will include all of Hartley, Kindavar and Britannia Queen.
R5 Banker for me is again Gavin from a one draw. Small speedy filly where I think c/d will suit her down to the ground. Only concern is that she's taking on the boys however with all due respect, there's no champions in this field. Ice breaker an initial concern but I think she will be having an ice breaker of a run and improve over more ground.
R6 I was impressed with Regal Graduations last win over 1450 but the drop in trip and the fitting of blinkers is a concern. If pushed for a selection I'd go with Three Stars however not a confident selection in which case I'll be going as wide as I can afford. Even Captain's princess a case could be made for thus if one can afford I'll go the field.
R7 Another tricky affair where there should be a decent pace on. That will suit a horse like Gimmehope as well as Orpheus. If the appie can stay balanced and manage to give gimmehope a clear passage she could be the value for the places. Again like race 6 a lot could depend on the pace and luck in running so as wide as I can afford again.
R8 I'd be very careful of anchoring Ghaala in bets as I think the companion is definitely alive and well in this field. For pa purpose Ghaala shouldn't miss the first three but the way she has raced in her last few maybe her price could be justified on the stand side track. On this track she could struggle to get to Firdoas if reclaiming her earlier form. Both fillies are highly rated by the yard and I'm very eager to see F on this track, from this draw etc. Her most impressive win to date was also on a tight circuit so F definitely warrants respect in my book. Parental control for Trifectas and Quartets.
R9 I agree with many that fife looks the right one. I was however expecting more last time out. This short run in may suit quite nicely too as she looks to have a nice turn of foot and maybe the long vaal straight was a bit much for her so early on in her career. If feeling the need for back up I could make a case for Tuscan Light who the track I feel should also suit and has a better draw this time around.
By best bet for the day: Makara.
Best value bet: Britannia Queen/Firdoas.
Play well.
