"Group" RESULTS - 'Afternoon Session' Friday 25 July Workings
16 years 10 months ago
Afternoon.
This afternoon completed and went as follows:
The 1st runner we wanted 1.18, and with being around 1.32 on arrival and although dropping down, the price only came down to 1.19 rock bottom and not a penny was matched at our lay price of 1.18 and so a race to avoid for all. The runner went and won, so good discipline and a good leave.....
The 2nd runner we wanted 1.8, and with being around 2.34 on arrival, getting bigger and not coming down to us at any stage at all, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift justified and 'one that got away in hindsight'........
The 3rd runner we wanted 2.2, and with drifting to around 2.56 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so the drift beat race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders happy though.......
The 4th runner we wanted 3.5, and with drifting to around 4.7 on arrival and not coming back down to us, race to race players had to avoid another race. The runner was beaten and so another drift beats race to racers to the punch. Grr. Early traders again happy.....
The 5th runner we wanted 2.6,and with being a well supported 2.28 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.28. The lay went and won and so the way it goes. Traders easily got their trade back prices in running, so got away with it.....
The 6th runner we wanted 2.5, but a non runner and 3.8% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 2.44. The price had drifted to around 2.74 on arrival and only got bigger, so another race that race to race players had to avoid. The runner went and won, so glad of the drift now and a good leave..........
The 7th runner we wanted 3.5, but a non runner and 6.3% reduction meant we now wanted a lay price of 3.34. There was then another non runner and further 7.7% reduction, so now we wanted a lay price of 3.16 (3.15 nearest exchange price). The price was 3.15 on arrival and so we had a lay at 3.15. The lay was beaten and so a good result........
The 8th runner we wanted 2.5, and with being around 2.98 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage at all, it was a race to avoid for all. The runner came in 2nd, so 'one that got away in hindsight'..........
The 9th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being a well supported 2.66 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.66. The lay was 2nd after a battle, so got us sweating, but a good result.....
The 10th runner we wanted 3.3, and with being a well supported 2.98 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.98. The price then drifted out to our own price of 3.6 and beyond, so a chance for a 'free' lay for traders and builders. The lay/trade looked in trouble, but he went and simply outstayed them all to win, so the way it goes. Glad of the 'free' lay now though.........
The 11th runner we wanted 2.1, and with being a well supported 1.93 on arrival, we had a lay at 1.93. The lay was beaten and so a good result.......
The 12th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being around 3.55 on arrival and not coming down to us at any stage, we all had to avoid the race. The runner was beaten and so 'one that got away in hindsight'.....
The 13th runner we wanted 3.1, and with being a very well supported 2.36 on arrival, we had a lay at 2.36. No strategy play remaining and only a bit of trading left, so I'm leaving it there. Good luck traders with these remaining runners...
WELL PLAYED/BATTLED....................(3 from the first 6 (50%) went and won - 4 from the first 10 (40%) - and so an awkward start mixed with those drifters, but we did a decent job and so well played/battled)
'Rolling' strategy/target players (no 'free' lays for them) finished level...........They started their 1st strategy/target on the 5th runner, and after a tough battle they went and broke level after their 5th and final lay (the 11th runner) and so they walk away levels...
'Bank building' strategy/target players had their 1st lay (the 5th runner) at 2.28, but a poor result see them go behind early..........They then had their 2nd lay (the 7th runner) at 3.15 and a good result see them win a chunk back.........Then came their 3rd lay (the 9th runner) at 2.66, and a good result see them break levels, and so 4 runner builders stop there with being levels and now no room at all for error with just one potential lay left....
5 runner builders played on and had a 'free' lay (the 10th runner) that only bought relief..........They then had their 4th lay (the 11th runner) at 1.93 max, and a good result see them hit their targets....
Bank builder 4 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £100 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.28. Result negative. Lose £100
Total bank now £300
2nd lay £100 to recoup as much of the £100 @ 3.15. Result positive. Win £46
Total bank now £346
3rd lay £173 to recoup the £54 @ 2.66. Result positive. Win £54
Total bank now £400
So with being levels and only one potential lay left, there's no room at all for error, so stop here.
Overall result. Level.
*****************************************
Bank builder 5 runner strategy/target. £400 bank. Max 25% target £100
1st lay £80 to win as much of the £100 target @ 2.28. Result negative. Lose £80
Total bank now £320
2nd lay £80 to recoup as much of the £80 @ 3.15. Result positive. Win £37
Total bank now £357
3rd lay £119 to recoup the £43 @ 2.66. Result positive. Win £43
Total bank now £400
'Free' lay bought no free profit, only relief.
Total bank remains £400
4th lay £200 to win the £100 target @ 1.93 max. Result positive. Win £100
Total bank now £500
Overall result. Target hit.
*****************************************
'Traders' have either won, or broke level on all their trades thus far, so well played guys and good luck with the remainder..
So builders either break level or hit their targets, so with winners and drifters being annoying again, that was a decent effort and well played. Rollers walk away levels, so well battled guys and speak in the morning...
