Interesting extract from stipes report

The Stipendiary Board advised Jockey Strydom that recently there had been an increased number of his rides in particular ZULU DAWN, END OF MARCH and ROSE IN BLOOM where he had not persevered with his riding and following examinations from the NHA Veterinary Surgeon, nothing untoward had been found with these horses. He was further advised that his future rides would be closely monitored and if this pattern continued, he may face disciplinary action.

Have had the same thoughts about Him for years to be honest. The problem is that I have no doubt about his feel , and that him riding out one , that has a problem, because he doesn't want to get accused by the stripes is dangerous. So would be against the stipes pushing this.

On the other hand , my feeling is often he has made up his mind before the race about his chances, and if it looks negative 1/2 way through the race he doesn't give much assistance. I have gone off what I think are decent outside chances against big favorites, when I have seen him riding, based only on my perception that he will be negative . Which is a pity as his balance and talent used to give horses an advantage and a fair chance at running their race no matter their ability.

Wasnt the examinations being done by an outside party previously , maybe a conflict of interest
