Turffontein Thursday 11/10/2018

Well another meeting on the inside track. I like:
R1: JET JOHNSON (places). Heavily backed on debut and shows pace
R5: EARTH SKY. Hopefully Striker can bring it home today
R10: WRAP IT UP. Has dropped down in the ratings from a 76 to a 53
In Race 2 there is an odds-on favourite. Beware of the Tarry 1st timers

Sea Venture / Aeronautical / Perfect Order (hoping the blinkers and LH onboard do the trick)

Quite a few puzzles to try and solve - but still looks a lot easier than the card on Saturday ....
R2: Obviously Monopolize - Chipofftheoldblock gets blinkers and could be the danger
R3: Rosario made a promising debut recently and with normal improvement from a good draw rates the on to beat imo; Sea Venture has found betting support, but this may be too sharp for the daughter of Dynasty out of a Sportsworld mare
Seneca Falls needs to improve imo, so I make Kelly's Angel
(fair last run and has a nice draw today) the biggest danger to Rosario
R4: Plenty of money for Fire Side - last run was against much stronger (Sea Venture was also in that race ) but did finish more than 10 lengths back, so I'm not convinced; Miss Patriot improved nicely last time, but needs to overcome a wide draw; none of the others really jump out at me, so it could be a case of the favorite or the field in the P6
R5: Earth Sky and The Bosbok stand out here imo; Jagesa Jagesa may improve further over this trip; Red Invader was in a very weak field last time, so further improvement needed imo
R6: Challenging handicap; Myoshi looks overdue to win, but on the ratings have New Zealand and Gift for the Gap to beat; I think those 3 will fight it out
R7: Another tough little handicap; not a lot between the five runners in the betting; as a roughie I'm also including Battle Creek, who I think is going to set the pace from a good draw and could prove hard to catch
R8: Smallish field where Kissable will also most likely go play 'catch me if you can'; Frederico's Dream the main danger imo, but if the two fillies go too fast, it could open the door for Rockey Valley or Rebel's Champ to run them down
R9: Redberry Lane the standout on form and should prove hard to beat at these weights; Green Top drifted like a barge in the betting since yesterday, but has found some support again - imo she will be better over more ground; the two 3 yr old fillies Mazari and Running Brave both look decent, and either could take advantage should RL not be at the top of her game
Enjoy

This Peruvian jock looks like he is about to fall off the horse.
Definitely not as balanced as Willy was.
And of all jockeys Simons gets the better of him in a finish.
