Again, who can guarantee nothing changes after that inspection has passed?

So in other words u trying to say that this is not because we have cut down on maintenance of tracks and it's no ones responsibility at the highest level to ensure we race on approved tracks then say we dealing with Nature for all these track stuff ups ... the work ethic you say exists is from the top down and not from the bottom up.

I'm saying, who ever can guarantee what nature can or will do, is a brave person! No human has that foresight!

But from a trainer's perspective im sure it's an easy out to blame the authorities when their fancied runner does not perform. What do they say, " the best form of defense is attack"!

You mention track stuff ups.

What about trainer stuff ups? Or don't they count for the betting public....

Your dislike of trainers is evident but take it up with who you have a problem ... but dont try and take away the track stuff ups from those responsible namely Phumelela

.....had they been doing diligent track inspections from the outset then these problems would not have manifested so badly now..... .there have been problems for over 2 years yet still minimal inspections and a WSB sponsored race day was scuppered back then.....as a catch up to get back on track(excuse the pun)...... on non race days and as part of maintenance projects ..... have a picket line/s with metal rods to probe the whole course to test for sub surface voids and and cavities.....then there would be at least a possibility of addressing the issue of the guarantee to make the tracks safer....

Seems to me that mr dilligaf could be a member of the government - expertly deflecting the issue as referenced in this thread

Muhtiman, all they have to do is get hold of Landpac (JHB based comp; Craig is the contact person 011-8146407) and hire one of their deep impact compactors. One trip around the track will expose any voids, I think, up to 2m deep. There might be some grass damage but the voids will be found. This "honeycomb" phenomenon is fairly common in the area, if that's what the problem is. This whole thread sounds like deja-vu to me I'm sure I have had this discussion with Louis G some years back.
