Greyville Sunday August 26 Tips and Race Previews by Andrew Harrison…
Greyville Sunday Tips and Race Previews by Andrew Harrison
Race 1
10 SOLSBURY HILL 2 STONE TIGER 12 ZIGI ZAGI ZUGI 9 SILVER SONG
Preview: SOLSBURY HILL (10) showed up well in his barrier trial behind subsequent winner Cavalry. The trial was run in an exceptional time. STONE TIGER (2) has shown some promise and may just have needed his last effort. Experience could count here. ZIGI ZAGI ZUGI (12) was close-up in his trial and runners from this stable tend to come on with the experience. The form of the trial has worked out well. SILVER SONG (9) was well beaten on debut but did find some market support and can do better this time around. (Andrew Harrison: 10-2-9-12).
Race 2
1 PEACOCK ALLEY 7 DRIVEN FORCE 6 CANADIAN BOLT 12 LITTLE BRISTOL
Preview: PEACOCK ALLEY (1) has improved with each outing. He was a close-up second over the distance last time out and can go one better here. He is the best of the more exposed runners. DRIVEN FORCE (7) made a fair sprint debut and should much prefer this trip. One to watch in the market. CANADIAN BOLT (6) come on well from his barrier trial and was a close-up second from a wide draw on debut. The extra should suit. LITTLE BRISTOL (12) was not asked for much of an effort in her barrier trial. She takes on males here but looks set to make a bold bid. WORDBUSTER (2) is back in blinkers and showed up well in a recent trial. He could prove best this trip and comes from an in-form stable. (Andrew Harrison: 1-7-6-12).
Race 3
14 WHITE LIGHTNING 11 JET STREAM 1 SHARPE’S EAGLE 3 FINAL ASSEMBLY
Preview: WHITE LIGHTNING (14) came from off the pace to finish second to the promising Duke Of Spin last Sunday. Marcus stays with the ride and they jump from pole position. JET STREAM (11) caught the eye when running on late over a sprint. He should much prefer this trip although he does have a tricky draw. SHARPE’S EAGLE (1) has shown steady form in his three outings. He was running on well last start over a mile and should feature here. FINAL ASSEMBLY (3) has only once been out of the money. He tries a tongue-tie from a wide draw. (Andrew Harrison: 14-11-1-3).
Race 4
1 FINAL JUDGEMENT 3 OSPREY 2 SORCERESS 6 QUEEN’S PLAIN
Preview: FINAL JUDGEMENT (1) has some useful form in feature race company but has been a touch disappointing since showing early promise. She has a fair weight here but should go close. OSPREY (3) showed improved form in blinkers. She has a light weight and over her best trip. SOCERESS (2) is overdue a second win. She shows good form over shorter but with a handy weight should be right there in a small field. Stable companion QUEEN’S PLAIN (6) has been disappointing but with only 48kg to should could prove dangerous. (Andrew Harrison: 1-3-2-6).
Race 5
6 BONNIE DAWN 3 KATEECADOR 2 TIMEOUS 4 ANNELINE
Preview: Open race. BONNIE DAWN (6) is quick and in good form. She has a top draw and a light weight and could run the all out of it. KATEECADOR (3) is over her best trip and was narrowly beaten by the more than useful Isingamoya last time out. She switches back to turf as does TIMEOUS (2) who is also in good form. ANNELINE (4) has been close-up in her last two but could prefer it a touch further. (Andrew Harrison: 6-3-2-4).
Race 6
2 Q THE MUSIC 9 CAPTAIN VON TRAPP 3 UNBELIEVABLE LAD 7 ELUSIVE WOLF
Preview: Open handicap. Q THE MUSIC (2) has been knocking at the door for some time now. He goes well over the trip and should be right there again. CAPTAIN VON TRAPP (9) has been ridden by an inexperienced apprentice in his last three. Marcus gets the leg up here and the trip should suit. UNBELIEVABLE LAD (3) is in tremendous form over shorter but the extra furlong here should not be a problem from a good draw. ELUSIVE WOLF (7) is seldom far back and has done well over this distance. He should be right there. (Andrew Harrison: 2-9-3-7).
Race 7
6 DINNER DATE 3 PERFECT AIR 5 PINK CADILLAC 1 SEEK THE SUMMIT
Preview: Tricky. DINNER DATE (6) comes from an in-form stable. She has been trying further but is effective over this shorter trip and with blinkers from a pole position draw rates a strong chance. PERFECT AIR (3) shows promise but is returning from a break and may just need it although he class may just carry the day. PINK CADILLAC (5) was narrowly beaten last start and has been holding form. She switches to the turf. SEEK THE SUMMIT (1) has come down in the ratings and is over her best trip. (Andrew Harrison: 6-3-5-1).
Race 8
9 COPPER POT 5 REGENT SEVEN 10 SHERMAN 8 SEA SPONGE
Preview: Tough race. COPPER POT (9) was a beaten favourite last run but can do much better over this trip with a 2.5kg claimer aboard. REGENT SEVEN (5) ran well below his best last start. He had been in good form before that and at best will go close again. SHERMAN (10) has improved since returning from a break. He stays the trip and should go well in this company. SEA SPONGE (
is lightly raced but goes well over this trip. (Andrew Harrison: 9-5-10-

Final Judgement will be off to stud after this race. She has been working well and is the class filly in this race, but has to give lumps of weight.
The lack of plate races in the program has been one of the key reasons why she is still just a 2 time winner. She has been not far behind the best at WFA, and always a tough task in handicaps with her rating.
Hoping she can retire on a high note.

We have Bangkok in the last - only 3 yr old in the field against a bunch of 'moderate' horses; word is that his work has been good; however stable jock has (not surprisingly) gone with the stable mate - imo the handicapper must have been smoking something when arriving at his rating of 84; by my calcs it is around 8 points too high which over the trip equates to around 5 lengths - so in theory he should run 5 lengths behind the 2nd last horse; as such I think a top 4 finish would be very encouraging , also considering his wide draw ....
