Bookies and pick 3 payouts,fair or not?

Todays pick 3 at Gloucester Park(harness racing) paid R273.I managed to get it 5 times.OK the tote pool was only R273 so if I had put the bet on the tote it would have paid R45 cause you add my tickets in.Should the bookies be paying out on the exact tote dividends or can they say I can't pay you out more the pool even though they got nothing to do with the pool.Remember 25% of the pool is taken out by the tote to pay certain things so the bookies are gaining from a reduced pool for doing nothing. They only paid me out R273.Have I got a leg to stand on if I phone them and query this?

For sure Bob but I thought the bookies where obliged to pay out the tote dividends exactly what they where as they really got nothing to do with the pools.

.....read the fine print.....bookies are no muggs.....they may have got wise to these small pool issues..... and have got a bit of protection written into their "rules"......

Its not only the Pick 3, it goes for other exotic's pools as well. About 6 or 7 years back was catching frequently harness racing swingers and winning more than pool. After a losing streak and R2500 down I caught a bet only to find out I never collect what I suppose too. After reading the T&Cs I had no recourse and learnt my lesson. As for Australia harness racing, I only play the Jackpot and when it is in the Quick Mix as most times I was losing before South African racing started.

Go read the T&Cs, there is one T&C that is very important. What can do you can play the Pick 3 with different bookmakers so you can still be a winner until you receive this,
