Looking at the card, it is conceivable that the Snaith/Fourie combination could have a red letter day. See in the first race, Rip It Up is priced up as provisional joint favourite, see how they bet closer to race time.

Races 2, 3, 4 and 6, the combination must have realistic chances of winning :-

R2 - Frank Lloyd Wright, despite a relatively wide draw should have the beating of this field, if judged on his last two runs.

R3 - Black Indy drops back to maiden class company, and his two runs prior to the Langermann race were more than decent. If overcoming the draw, should be the right one here.

R4 - Magnificent Seven, with the scratching of stable companion, Jailhouse Rock, looks the one they all have to beat.

R6 - The Boston Rose, if not in need of the run, from gate 1, also looks the one they all have to beat.
Guessing has never been widely acclaimed as a good gambling strategy.

Race 4 : Red Peril i am taking the 10/1 , small field = no pace = big lead = hang on and win , seen this scenario play out a few times this season in the cape

Believethisbeauty is a runner in the last. I think the 3 year olds have to be exceptionally forward so early in the season, so I will brass all the 3 year olds. You might wonder why Byleveld is not taking the ride, obviously she would not have the benefit of the 4.0kg apprentice allowance, which I feel she needs to win this. Big value at the current odds of 11/2, me thinks.

I am confident on this double The Silva Fox n Red Rascal (considering that Norman Elliot - Durban City was called the Silva Fox and he was a rascal in his days!)

There is a bit of rain possible later, but looks ok for now and the course was running quite fast on Wednesday. Small fields but some interesting racing.
Race 1: Ready to Rumble has good form and looks a a bit better than Sandy Sport and Hey Boy, but is up against a bunch of unknown first timers. Rip it Up has been priced up favourite and is probably the elect of the 4 Snaith runners.
Race 2: Frank Lloyd Wright is the proverbial penalty kick. Consul of War returns from a year break and if fit is the danger being a year older.
We have Master of Spain. He put up a very pleasing debut, and last time elected to keep to the outside which no doubt cost a few lengths, so that run should be ignored. He is fit and well and should be well suited to the extra. He has a good place chance.
Race 3: There is not much between Black Indy and More Magic with the latter having the benefit of a good draw. Captain Gone Wild good debut and must be a threat. We have Forty Days and he is doing well at home and should make further improvement. He was less than 3L behind MoreMagic last time and he should be in the shake up.
Race 4: Only four runners. Magnificent Seven is the one to beat at the weights, but not much between him and Gimme One Night. Friendly Tibbs is honest. Red Peril is getting a bit long in the tooth but is a dangerous front runner on his day.
Race 5: The Silva Fox has been knocking on the door and is distance proven. Cohiba All Day may have the edge with the fillies allowance. Sark is well tried but has a chance.
Race 6: The Boston Rose has been relatively leniently treated by the handicapper. The filly she beat last time came out to win on Wednesday, and with the plum draw she is the one to beat. Rebels Spirit loves this course and can’t be ignored. Ostinato carries top weight but is in very good form and must be respected. We have Star of London. I think that she is a bit high in the ratings but she has been working well and gets a good draw, and I give her an ew chance.
Race 7: A competitive handicap and many with chances. Teutonic Knight has been ignored in the betting, but has done well this course and could be nice roughie to throw in. Red Rascal has plenty scope for improvement and gets a nice draw. I bred the dam, so have a sentimental interest. Silver Master is consistent but gets a wide draw and has to give weight all round. Silver League took a while to win his maiden but is on a very competitive rating so should be right there.
Race 8: A tricky contest between the 3 older fillies and the up and coming 3year olds. There is little between Over You, Believethisbeauty and Nick Noo. Tattooed Rocker and Lip Service both nice debuts and plenty scope for improvement. Dancing For Rain has not quite fulfilled the promise of her very good debut, but ran a fair race when appearing to need the run last time and the stable did express some confidence this morning.
