was there today mori and it's like any sportsground, food and booze inside a rip-off, however Lords do allow people to bring in a limited amount of own booze and as much food as u want so hundreds of people with picnic baskets etc for the lunch, i grabbed a few cans of Fosters from 'the offy' on way 2 ground, no problems.

Sure i paid £75, i probably never will again as hard to justify however really wanted to do Lords at least once. I tell you not many other saffers today at that price can you blame them.

Oh and what made the day and the money worth it was hearing all the England fans moaning about how little action there was, priceless. Well done Smith and Mckenzie today.

Glad that you had a good day southpaw. Suppose going to Lords is one of the sporting memories one will take to the grave with them especially if you have wanted to go there for a long time.

Football prices are going through the roof as well. My grand kids go on most Saturdays. The one supports Southampton and the other Bournemouth. My daughter has to ferry them around and with the price of fuel i dont know how it will work out this season. Maybe 1 week one can go and the next the other. And to think that these footballers are not satisfied with the 10s of thousands of pounds they earn a week The world has gone crazy. Its all about how much money these sporting organisations can take off the paying public but one day they are all going to get bitten up the arse when we say enough is enough. The greedy buggers are never satisfied with what they earn always looking for more. I read in the paper today that Rooney the Manchester United player is over a million in the red. What the hell is he doing with all his money i ask you.

Kallis must be kicking himself...5 players get hundreds and he scores 20 in two knocks. Maybe Headingley will be his patch.

I ended up going Mori - quiet @work so the boss let me go.

I've never been to a test match, so I enjoyed the day - even though it was well odds on for the Draw the SA boys still had to bat to at least 5 to make it safe.

It was great to see 'Monty' in the flesh so to speak - the crowd love that lad.

Pretty much a work in progress - but such a nice guy.

Jim.

Talking about prices Jim, depending on where in London you travelled from to Lords and the mode of transport you used, I suspect that it cost you just about the same in getting there as getting in. I left London a few years ago because even then I was really get miffed about the prices. I moved down to Dorset and after a few years that too became a rip off. In Scotland its still fairly reasonable but its starting to catch up. Where to next? If I go any further North it will have to be Iceland and then Greenland.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the day.
