For me the form horse leading up to last years July was Elusive Silva. He has peaked at the right time and I make him the one they all have to beat.My order of finish:
1. Elusive Silva
2.Rocket Countdown
3.Made to Conquer
4.Liege.
What happened to Jackson?

Richie the maximum a 3 year old filly can carry when the final weights are declared is 56 Kg’s. So would be well in at the weights on her merit rating.
I do agree with Justin when pulling O Susanna, even though she was well in she still had to give weight to the 3 year colts.
Thanks - I was leading with that question to see whether Fiorella is well placed. She has flown a bit under the radar. She was good for her beating of Snowdance when raised to a 108 and was just pipped by Oh Susanna albeit both over 1600. If she gets the distance I feel she could be the lurker in the pack.[/q
I don't want to put anyone off their fancy, but i am of the opinion that not one kzn horse will run into the top8 in the july.i know i said it last year, but i was proved right and this year i feel even stronger about my prediction.I also feel that it will be very tough for a jhb horse to be involved in the finish because the std of jhb horses has dropped alarmingly since the cobalt saga got some airtime on this very site. Those champion trainers seem to have gone backwards since that story. That leaves this July at the mercy of of the Cape boys and i guess all the punters have to do is figure out which one is the right one from the Snaith yard and you have your winner. This July looks very easy if you scratch the KZN no hopers and the over-hyped poor JHB horses. This is only my opinion and i have to add i can't discount a jhb horse winning if the trainer takes a chance and decides to dope his horse to be competitive.i am sure i will get a lot of stick for this post, but i do feel that kzn horses are just too poor and the standard of jhb gr1 races is nothing more than a division at best over classic distances. Those are facts of our racing at the moment, so punters can use this or ignore it and enrich the bookies even more by backing horses who have no chance of being involved in the finish.just follow history and good luck on your choices and hope that no trainer decides to take a chance with the different types of dope available to them.

Jackson was an impressive winner[Like ANS] just before the July and looked very hard to beat in the July...was burnt from a bad draw and went flat on the top of the straight[off the board]....

Do you see any pace in the July? If nobody goes out there this could be anybody’s race.
I didn't choose the #puntlife, the #puntlife chose me!

The pace of the race most likly will end up being slow, which will cause the horses at the back been further back than they would want to be, and end up into a sprint
